I originally bought the arm mount so I could turn one of my monitor in portrait mode. That angle didn't end up working very well with a 24" widescreen as the bottom of the screen was too low and uncomfortable to look at.
Because of the current events (COVID19) I found myself suddenly having to work from home, which I wasn't equipped for having never done it before. We were allowed to bring our office equipment home but I only have a small writing desk at home for my two monitor work setup. The desk was really cramped and I had stacked precariously many heavy books to boost the monitors at a more appropriate level.
I installed the arm on one corner of my desk and it's very secure. It has really freed up space on my desk and I can get the screen at the right height without having to stack 2 dictionaries and one cookbook!
I found the arm to be really easy to adjust and to secure in place once the right angle is achieved. I haven't had any problems with the arm sagging under the monitor's weight. With my current situation, I've accidentally knocked into the arm while manoeuvring around the desk several times and it has never knocked the angle of the monitor out of place, so I feel it's pretty secure. Each joint of the arm has one of more bolt that can be loosened or tightened to secure the arm in place.
One reviewer said the screen was bouncing while they were typing but I am not having any problems except maybe the tiniest of bounces if I hit the desk with my leg or something. I feel like maybe that reviewer had a much bigger monitor than 24" or hadn't secured the bolts tightly enough.
My monitor is approximately 13" tall and at the maximum height of the arm, it is about 12" from the desk to the bottom of the monitor.
Concerning the assembly, personally I found the instructions not very helpful. I had to guess or figure out through trial and error how to assemble the arm. There are many nearly identical screws and it's never clearly stated which goes where. Also there is a cap on the end of the upper arm and attaching it is just ridiculously complicated. I can't understand why they did it this way.
(To secure it you need to get a large but short screw on a spring (why??) into the 'elbow' from underneath and somehow get it to go straight up on the tip of a screwdriver through the entire plastic 'elbow' (about 3" tall) and THEN put the cap on top of the protruding screw (still balanced on the screwdriver 3 inches up the fully opaque plastic thing) and line up the cap and screw it on. That probably made no sense to anyone reading this but, don't worry, it doesn't make much more sense to anyone actually installing it.)
Overall satisfied with the arm and I've ordered another arm for my other screen. I can't wait to have a cleared up desk and my monitors finally at the height and angle I want them.

OMG Best thing I've ever bought for myself
I have bad posture and my neck gets stiff while working at a desk so I wanted to create a DIY alternative to the "Alt-Desk" - the lay-down zero-gravity desk system. This was PERFECT! I attached it to side table and I am using a mousepad on the armrest and all I have to do is get into my zero-gravity lawn chair (which is more comfy than it sounds) and swivel the monitor my way and I'm all set!!! Neck strain is completely gone. I love that it holds up my 24" monitor perfectly without issues and it moves exactly how I want it to move - giving me all kinds of options for angles.

Difficult to set up and instruction manual was not clear or I received a defective arm. The mount section of the arm arrived positioned/orientated like a star when photos online showed it’ll be positioned like a square instead. I thought maybe I just had to rotate it so I took everything off to adjust the orientation but it still would not work. Can’t attach my laptop tray cause even if I do and place my laptop on it, gravity will take its course and my laptop will just drop. If the problem is with me and not setting it up correctly, then it’s way too difficult to set up.
