This one made me cry, but was an excellent conclusion to the series.

The Vampirates saga concludes with this sixth installment. This epic series has amassed a vast amount of characters, stories and relationships. Characters have developed in unexpected ways. And a looming prophecy finally comes to fruition.
I finished this novel with mixed emotions. I've grown to love the individual Pirate and Nocturne characters. And though the changes have been difficult, the future still looks bright. Somper has taken his readers on a wild, swashbuckling ride through pirate (and Vampirate) infested waters. This unique series is a fantastic fantasy adventure for all ages, though the darkness and violence does increase throughout the series. Full of high seas adventure, magic, romance, and action - Immortal War is a strong and satisfying ending to an amazing series.
So, Johnny gives Grace baby Evil...okay? After that, Evil is NEVER mentioned again nor do we know what Grace or Lorcan think about this child; like the baby's name. Lorcan isn't there when Grace is given the child and I would like to know what he thinks about this after Grace appears to Lorcan after the battle cradling a bundle of evil incarnate. Since this is the last book, I felt that some form of closure was needed between Grace, Lorcan and this child to know what they plan to do for the future. A tiny glimpse into the uncertain future of both of Lola's children. Just something!
Grace has magical powers, good for you! It has been a long time since I read the last five books so my memory could be off a little, but I still felt that more information was needed about Grace and her abilities. She's a healer who can summon THREE of the most powerful vampirate leaders AND dead pirates to come save our heroes! What. The. Hell. If she can do this, cool. Awesome! ^^ But, how??? How is this possible? She's special? She a dhampir? Big deal! We know Connor and Grace are "special," but some explanation would be nice to understand how she can suddenly do this. She uses mind powers to fight off Oliver and knock Johnny unconscious! Unlike the other five books, Grace can suddenly do this. I know Mosh Zu has helped her along the way, but I don't remember him giving her this kind of training. If she wasn't trained or aided in any way of these powers, more details of her journal discovering them would be nice.
Connor could of had more attention in this book. He is struggling with his distaste for blood, but his need for it to survive. He occasionally sneaks away to a Blood Tavern to get his fix. At one point, Connor is being spied on by Lola's loyal servant at the Blood Tavern. This little bit of information in the book turns out to be insignificant. It leaves the reader to believe that the plot thickens and Lola is now targeting Connor. But nothing happens. Connor is now becoming aware of his own powers. Up until now, only Grace showed signs of being magical. Connor being a dhampir is the only reason for this? I guess.
I feel like I am knit-picking. I'm sorry if it comes across this way, but I'm just speaking as a book lover and passion for creative story ideas. THIS BOOK HAS IT! It does. It could have been executed better.
well i really enjoyed the first five books in the series i found that this one skiped over some very important parts, since the fourth book i have been looking forward to how conner will tell his friends and the drama of it but in the last book he starts getting into the battle with jacoby and then it just skips to the final battle i just think was badly done
