About the Author

IF A STORM is Anna Ross's first full-length collection of poems. Her chapbook, Hawk Weather, won the New Women's Voices Prize from Finishing Line Press and the Jean Pedrick Chapbook Award from the New England Poetry Club. She has received fellowships from the Sewanee Writers' Conference, Grub Street, Inc., Fishtrap, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and her work has twice been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her poetry and criticism has appeared in journals such as The Paris Review, The New Republic, Southwest Review, Salamander, Barrow Street, and Boston Review. She teaches at Stonehill College, where she is Poet in Residence, and is a contributing editor in poetry for Guernica: A Magazine of Art & Politics.

Not sure that I would ever try this, personally, but this book impressed me with how well it was put together. I was expecting the book to be more about different recipes, but the author explained all the things you should consider when doing this diet. I really appreciate the time, research and expertise into something like this. She was honest about her assessments and it was easy to read. Educating yourself and being goal oriented are the best ideas for any diet, but something this extreme in raw foods is even more essential for the success of the program. Well written, and well done!

A really good book with delicious, quick and easy to make recipes for breakfast. It has an interesting foreword why Vegan is good for you. All recipes are given with complete ingredients and instructions. These recipes are very good for health. Not only does this book contain a wide variety of tasty and healthy recipes, which I found very easy to understand and follow, but the benefits of veganism explained in the introduction inspired me to commit to a healthy lifestyle change. This is an amazing book, recommended to all.

What I like about this book is that it gives actual advice on how to slowly implement raw food diet and fit it into everyday life. To people who are not familiar enough with this concept, it may seem impossible to eat raw food, and that is where the true value of this book comes to the fore. I am thinking of switching on to raw food for quite some time now but the problem is how to start with implementation. This book gave me the structure and actual steps to take so now it seems much more easier and actually doable.
