She's done it again! Kris's new book fits right in line with her others. Witty writing & easy to follow directions make it a must have cookbook to have in your collection. I just made the Pumpkin Creme Brulee recipe and it's to die for and this is coming from a non-vegan. I look forward to making many other desserts from this book. With appetizing photos like this it's hard not to run though the whole book cooking in a delirious frenzy all night :)

As a confirmed dessert lover and a former vegan, I was excited to try this book. As a mother of two and a wife to non vegans, I was hesitant. In the past I have tried a few vegan desserts that were not well received. That did not happen with this book. I started out with the easy no-bake peanut butter cream cups. I didn't even have the chance to chill them as directed. My children devoured them before I could clean up. Next it was the absolutely amazing Salty Crunchy Almond cheesecake. This one I allowed to sit overnight. This was incredible. Absolutely decadent. My husband ate the entire serving (he never does that). I also tried the Apricot Almond cake from the cakes section and the Raw Pecan Pies from the no bake. Both were also absolutely delicious. The best part for me is that the book is well organized and laid out. There are no bake desserts, cakes, pies, pastries, desserts for only two people (I love this part), and even mixes and jams. After making the recipes above, I can also say that the recipes are well written and very easy to follow. None of the ingredients were unusual, so they were almost entirely things that I already had in my pantry. Also, I did break the rules and make two of the recipes above in tart pans and ramekins. They were perfect. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves dessert.

This is a GREAT book! There is a fantastic variety of delicious recipes along with photos that are very pleasing to the eye. The desserts we have tried are not only delicious, they are a cute presentation in these jars! We found especially delicious the Lemon Pudding Cakes, Peach Melba Cobbler and Chocolate Babka Blossoms. I love the variety of recipes, how clearly each recipe is written, the fact that they're vegan and what I've found most helpful is that placing them in these little jars provides portion control -- and how many of us don't need portion control when it comes to delicious desserts! This is a wonderful book. I highly recommend it!

This is a GREAT dessert cookbook!!! The desserts are incredibly beautiful! They make lovely little additions to parties -- or even small gifts!! I absolutely love this book. I made the strawberry shortcake ones and the no-bake pecan pie ones. They were absolutely scrumptious. What's more than that though, they are just SO FREAKING CUTE! I love them. Anyone interested in pretty cooking definitely needs to check out this book. This book brings out my giddy, girly side. :-D

I've had the book for about a month but with all of the craziness of holiday prep I haven't had time to sit down and truly peruse the recipes. I was asked to bring a dessert for a NYE party and that gave me the perfect reason to sit down with this gem for an hour to decide which recipes to try. All of them seem straight forward. The instructions are clear and the author's notes are cute and kind of funny. I love the photos, too. The variety surprised me. I honestly had a hard time choosing what to bring because every single recipe was incredibly appealing. I narrowed it down to four: Elvis in a Jar, Cherry Crumble, Peach Melba Cobbler, and Raspberry Brownie Bombs. I'll be making them tomorrow and will update on the results.

As an aside, I got a little snoopy and wandered over to Ms. Peters' blog where I discovered that she isn't a fan of the Oxford comma. Tsk, tsk. I'm not holding it against her because the recipes in her book sound just too delectable!

Update #1:
I spent the afternoon making the above mentioned recipes. They were all fairly simple. I should mention that I'm not super-adept in the kitchen and I'm pretty sure I made mistakes with all four recipes. For example, two of the recipes call for blending certain ingredients together and then merging them with other ingredients. I'm kind of a dump-it-all-in-there-and-then-just-beat-the-heck-out-of-it kind o' gal. DESPITE my bumbling ways, all four turned out looking (and smelling!) delicious. So, I'd say that the recipes are forgiving if you're like me and not a whiz in the baking department. If you ARE a whiz, your results will probably be even better than my spectacular product!

One note on the servings...except for the Cherry Crumble which was accurately described as serving 6, all of the recipes made 8 and could very easily have been stretched to 10.

And, a special note on the Peanut Butter Ganache in the Elvis in a Jar...if someone asked me, "Would you rather be forced to lick this ganache from the beaters while the mixer is still on OR be forced to wash the beaters without licking them at all?" I would have to seriously consider my answer. Seriously. It is SO GOOD!

I'll update again after the party when I've gotten some feedback from others on how these little darlings TASTE!
