Amazon.ca Product Description

In 1884, Master Cutler Karl Elsener started his cutlery factory in the small village of Ibach, Switzerland. In 1897, he crafted the Victorinox Original Swiss Army Knife. Since that time, the Elsener family has continued to craft tools in the Victorinox tradition of in genius design, durability, and quality. This is why all Victorinox multi-tools, made of first class stainless steel, are guaranteed a lifetime against defects in material and workmanship. Remember, if it doesn't say Victorinox, it's not the Original Swiss Army Knife.

From Amazon.ca

From the renowned company that created the Swiss Army Knife a century ago comes the Huntsman Knife, a compact multi-tool for camping, hiking, hunting, or around-the-house use. Measuring 3-1/2 inches long, the Huntsman is stylishly cased in a timeless black Swiss Army housing with the familiar Victorinox logo on the side. More importantly, the unit contains a variety of handy tools, including a large blade, a small blade, a can opener with a small screwdriver, a bottle opener with a large screwdriver and wire stripper, scissors, wood saw, a reamer with a sewing eye, a corkscrew, a hook, a toothpick, tweezers, and a key ring.

As with all Victorinox items, the Huntsman is made to exacting standards, with dozens of steps going into its construction. Victorinox attends to every detail, from selecting the finest materials to performing the final inspection. In addition, each individual tool has been hardened in a different way to stand up to its designated use. The Huntsman carries a lifetime warranty.

About Swiss Army Knives
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel.

Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

Very nice quality, had my pocket knife confiscated due to security at a public event, with increased diligence at sporting events even these are labeled as weapons now, so be careful lest you lose a prized possession.
Oh well, my losss was my gain as this knife is much nicer than the one confiscated, with all the tools I previously had plus hook, scissors, saw will make a very nice utility knife, just try to remember to leave it at home when going out.:)

This is the second Swiss Army Huntsman Pocket Knife that I have bought. I bought one for each of my two oldest boys (who are in Scouts). The quality is top notch as usual from Victorinox. The size is perfect. Small enough that it is comfortable to use and handle but with enough gadgets that cover everything that you really need. Perfect pocket knife.

I have always carried a pocket knife. It's a handy tool to have. Otherwise I was always looking for a pair of scissors, a nailfile, a corkscrew...now I have them all in one handy place. I keep it in my belt and have found it great to have it near at hand. The blade holds an edge well despite its being stainless steel. The number of tools is not too many to make the knife bulky. I think it was a good buy. The choice of which model to buy is a personal one. Check the various models carefully and choose the one which suits you.

Always a fan of Victorinox, so quite happy with this purchase. I gave it to my 17 year old cousin, and he's been playing with it and using every since. Great all around knife!

I have a very small Victorinox Swiss Army knife that fits very well in my pocket, so wanted to buy a gift for someone. Decided to get one with a few more features. Just received. Although nice, it is far too bulky. Disappointed so will have to purchase another one smaller. The site should give exact dimensions of these knives because the picture does not represent the size well at all!

Amazing knife, I've had the same one for a very long time and always carried it with me, although I lost it. This time I got the black one which is much nicer looking imo. My old one actually had a star screwdriver instead of the hook, I NEVER used it, and there is a screw driver on the end of the can opener anyways. They seem to have replaced it with the hook/parcel carrier, even though I will probably never really use that, I'm use it will be more useful then the screwdriver.

I've never personally been a big fan of SAK's, but I know they have a good Rep, so I decided to purchase one to try out. I definitely love my Leatherman Charge tti more, but this multi tool is pretty nice. It arrived within 3 days (which I appreciate how quick that was) in perfect condition. I purchased this version as my EDC since it has the tools I tend to use on a regular: knife, scissors, saw, cork screw (because I'm a big wine drinker) and I always get food stuck in my teeth, so the toothpick is a nice bonus.
My only real issue with this knife is that the blades don't lock. On my Leatherman, everything locks nicely. My second issue is with the hook tool. In my opinion, it's useless to me. I would absolutely love this multi tool if instead of the hook, it came with a nail cleaner/file (the reamer has been working well for cleaning under my nails, so that's a plus) or perhaps an interchangeable bit screwdriver like my Leatherman has. The upside to this SAK is that it's much lighter and sleeker than my tti (which I find is too heavy to carry around all the time; especially when I'm wearing light clothing such as track pants.
The blade came very sharp and the saw worked very well when I was cutting up small sticks to start my fire. All the tools snap open and closed with what I can tell is made with excellent craftsmanship.
I tend to have a slight regret with my purchases; however, that's not the case with this Huntsman. Other than my personal preferences with what tools and functional abilities I would wish to have on this tool, I must say that so far this SAK is pretty awesome.
This model is a great choice for EDC as well as boy scouts/or the everyday person doing light camp tasks.

This is an every day carry for me. I have it connected to a mini flashlight with a short cord. The two together are not too bulky for a pants pocket. It has some useful tools on it and is easy to use. The side panels do scuff easily which is one downside. the tools all work well and are well made.
