About the Author
VALERIE STEIKER, the editor of this book, is the culture editor at Vogue and the author of The Leopard Hat: A Daughter's Story and the editor, with Chris Knutsen, of a collection of essays, Brooklyn Was Mine. The ten illustrators are: from America, Helen Dryden, Harriet Meserole, Rita Senger, E.M.A Steinmetz, Arthur Gavin Finley, and George Wolfe Plank; from France, Georges Lepape, Pierre Mourgue, André Marty; and from Spain, Eduardo García Benito. Most of them were born in the 1880s or '90s; some, even the Americans, studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris; one—George Wolfe Plank—was self taught; and Arthur Gavin Finley also moonlighted as a magician, called Henry Gavin, credited with the invention of the Tent Vanish Trick.

I got this for christmas and I have to say I'm very impressed. It's basically the linework for Vintage Vogue covers, for you to colour in your choice. I've used a lot of colouring books from the expensive to the cheap and many of them have been fine, pretty and good for pencil colouring, but this is hands down the best quality one I own.
While the pages are double sided (like most colouring books) the paper is extremely thick and I was able to use a Sharpie oil paint pen on it (the gold) without it sinking through to the back. You could definitely use acrylics and other multi-media on this colouring books, as well as felt pens and pencils.
The pictures themselves are lovely, with a broad range of styles and designs. I injured my wrist part way through completing one from the February 1923 issue of Vogue, but can't wait to finish it. I'll definitely upload some more pictures when it's complete, but I can easily say without hesitation that I would recommend this colouring book for fans of Vogue, fashion or art!
+ Gorgeous designs that span two pages.
+ Extremely high quality paper that doesn't bleed through to the other side.
+ Can use multi-media due to the thickness of the paper.
+ Good amount of designs (not one of those tiny thin books).
