Product Description

"This irrepressible read-aloud will have the audience shouting directions at the poor hapless Prince." -Kirkus

"Filled with puns and lively wordplay, the rhyming plays off traditional plot elements, and readers familiar with the original will enjoy making comparisons." --School Library Journal

"The creators of Falling for Rapunzel offer another creatively warped version of a familiar tale, again pairing chipper rhymed couplets with dynamic mixed-media art. . . . A surprise ending will leave readers thoroughly roused." --Publishers Weekly --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

Bought this book for our 4 year old son after we had borrowed it once from the library. The rhyming format of this book provides a fun story that makes him laugh each time we read it.

HASH(0xa11f4924) out of 5 stars Original and hilarious! June 5 2008
By L. Owen - Published on
Format: Hardcover
Leah Wilcox' rhyming, offbeat send up of the Sleeping Beauty story is hilarious. My children and I all love it - even my boy, who has endured so many princess stories for his sister's sake that he hates them on principle, thinks this book is a riot. But the humor is sweet, not cynical, and leaves them both rolling. They also love Lydia Monks' illustrations, and study them intently searching for the "real" textures and the "drawn" ones. I love everything about this book! Also look at their other collaboration, Falling for Rapunzel.

My little princess keeps all of her princess books in one pile in her room so we can read them over and over and over ... Needless to say, I quickly tired of the traditional tales. This book, however, is delightful! My daughter and I laughed and laughed ...

By J. Lee - Published on
Format: Hardcover
I love this book! My daughter still laughs at the princes failed attempts to wake up this sleepy princess. And I have to admit, I laugh a little too. It's a witty take on a old classic. I recommend it to everyone.
