What an amazing book to read. I will definitely be recommending this to everyone I know. Such an inspiring book to know that we all have the inner strength we just have to find it!! "Stay authentic to who you are and don't get caught up trying to be who everyone else wants you to be or expects you to be. This is your life: others have their own lives to control" Makini Smith. Thank you for sharing your story with the world Makini Smith ♡.
I purchased the e-book on my amazon business account and was not allowed to write a review because the account was too new. All I can say is woooooow! Makini this book has moved me. I cried so much during most of the chapters and I feel deeply sorry for all that you have been through. Thank you for such inspirational and encouraging advice. Your experiences really hit home and I can certainly relate to most of it. Keep being strong and positive! I feel honoured to have met you at the women's event.
There are tons of motivational books on the market, but sometimes it is hard to relate to the message that the book is trying to get across. I have read many motivational books from all the greats like Napoleon Hill, Stephen R. Covey, Bob Proctor, Deepak Chapra and the list goes on and on, but now we have Makini Smith. A Walk In My Stilettos is one of the most honest and raw books I have been exposed to. As a male you would think you may not be able to the messages that she fills her book with, but it is the complete opposite. As a man it made me want to step my game up not only as a human, but as a man as well. I would love to go in detail...but you have to take this book in to understand what I mean by that.
Do yourself a big favor and add this book to your collection...not as a one time read, but at a classic reference that you can always go back to for the rest of your life. This book will take you through a roller coaster of emotions that will honestly have you wonder how much can the human spirit take in one lifetime! Joy, pain, life, death, wealth, struggle, laughter, tears, friendships, family, relationships, religion...it just the tip of the iceberg of what you get with A Walk In My Stilettos that covers all these topics and then some!
Each chapter gives you a personal story that will take you on a vivid journey accompanied by learning experiences and solutions that can apply to all of us. Often you read books that just have great advice, but it is not believable because you don't know whether the author truly experienced what they are talking about...not with this book! Makini gives it to you with no holds barred. When you are done reading you will feel like you can do anything you put your mind to because MAKINI says so...do yourself a BIG favor and add A Walk In My Stilettos to your private library!
I got this book a while ago but haven't had the chance to read it until a few days ago. I don't know why I waited so long. Its such a good book!! I became emotional at times throughout her story because it was so relatable for me. The book is very well written and reads like Makini is speaking directly to you, as she goes back and forth from story telling to giving practical advice like you're in a conversation. It was Avery quick read also since at times it was hard to put down as I wanted to see what would happen next. I highly recommend this book for all young women as it touches on so many of the challenges that we may face but she talks about overcoming them through solid faith and relentless determination.
This book should be on every nightstand, coffee table, Dr. Office, waiting room etc, you get the point! I am happy I purchased this book. I have been searching for a new book to read in this category for weeks and did not feel attached to any. I walked through my local public library and still no luck. I got very excited when I come across this great title that immediately caught my eyes. Love the color of the book also. I am one of those people who judge books by the cover before I start reading the back of it. It did not take long for me to decide on this book, I was SOLD.
The minute I received this book in the post box, I immediately felt connected to it. I literally carried this book everywhere I went even if I did not read any pages at that moment. As you can see, this book is just as blessed as the the author herself in my opinion. It is written very well, I felt so connected to Makini from the moment I read what Linda had shared about her in the beginning.
A Walk In My Stilettos is motivating, uplifting, empowering, faith driven and honest. I believe there is always room for personal growth in all people and this book helped me in many ways I did not predict I would find in it.
Thank You for sharing. I am very encouraged by you.
I purchased this book a while back but never got a chance to read it. I finally sat and started reading and it’s an eye opener. To hear some of the struggles, to see someone going through what I went through. I felt every pain the author felt. I will continue to read and continue to seek her wisdom. It’s amazing to see what God can do while you struggle with your own faith. God is good. Believe and have undeniying faith. He will come through.
