Excellent, well mastered copy. A lot of reviews of vinyl these days are most times about the content of the albums and that is fine, but what's the point if it's a poorly mastered vinyl pressing to start with? Vinyl is making a huge comeback and I'm so happy for that but there are pressing plants popping up all over trying to cash in and they are being operated by some people that just do not have the know how to properly cut new remastered lacquers for pressings.... but this pressing of "The Wall" is in fact a good one!

The Wall is a head trip, there's nothing like it out there. I've had this 2xLP for about a bit more than a month and listened to it more than I can remember.The mix here is fantastic, everything is crisp and clear; much better than the originals. The cover is the original design and uses quality materials; nice and heavy. The record itself is nice and thick, not like the old ones which are usually quite thin.

The Wall is tall and bleak, it may not be apparent at first listen as you might get lost in the guitar riffs; but the lyrics are much more than just cheap talk. The album is dark and speaks about the abuse that Roger Waters has faced, but also about the abuse he has done onto others; but if anything this album is a piece of advice. Another brick in the wall and it will be too high, and the only person behind it will be you; unable to see out.

I have pretty much every version of Pink Floyd "The Wall". Always searching for a better sound quality. I have it on vinyl, cd, cassette and even 8 track I think! I have been WAITING for a high definition version of "The Wall" in SACD, SHM-CD, Blu-Ray Pure Audio or DVD-AUDIO. James Guthrie has really done a fantastic job of remastering this albeit a 2 channel regular CD. I believe this is the best quality recording of "The Wall" available at this time. They say it is the "Legacy Edition". It is NOT a surround sound disc, but it sounds fantastic. I just wish they would do the same as they did with "Dark Side Of The Moon" and "Wish You Were Here" and do a SACD surround disc or DVD-AUDIO of this. It really deserves THE BEST. But this is good. Very good. I compared it to the previous remaster to this, and this one is NOTICEABLY clearer and has much more depth.
A must have if you are a Pink Floyd fan.

Bad Quality Control!

Warning to all buyers. The record plant that presses these records has absolutely no quality control. I had to send mine back twice. Please send your's back at the slightest sign of a defect to put pressure on the company that sells mostly defective products. It's a brand new record and it should be mint!.

A good sounding record with good depth although it varies slightly on different tracks no doubt due to being recorded in a few different studios. I thought the upper end detail was a little too far back in the presentation so I turned up the treble a notch to help alleviate this issue. The vinyl itself has some surface noise here and there even a few clicks and a couple of pops but overall a fairly quiet.

Who'd have thought it possible? Can you really rediscover something, having listened to it from the time it first came out, several decades later? The answer is YES!

What the Floyd have done here is rewarded their fans for all the years of loyalty. They said thanks for the ride, thanks for sticking with us, and here's a little something for you now. Please note though, I'm talking specifically of Floyd Fans, not the casual listener. The casual listener does not need several versions of the same album.

The true fan, however, has something akin to a collectable vinyl. We now have several versions to compare, digest and immerse ourselves in. We have tons of extras to pour over and read and talk about and read again and talk about some more. This is like getting the album on the day of release back in the late '70's all over again. This is like watching the original Star Wars Trilogy when Lucas first remastered them (admit it, watching them in the cinema again 20 years later was awesome). All the flaws taken out, all the majesty and brilliance you remember, offered up in the best possible quality available.

Against the wall till it explodes if you give this album anything less the 5 stars. The sheer amount of effort that went into this record is monumental. Everything from the weight of the records to the packaging is just superb. Not to mention songs like Young Lust, Another Brick in The Wall, Hey You, Comfortably Numb (just to name a few) turn the rectangular bricks that built The Wall into the most well rounded album every created. Be it the cry of Gilmours Guitar or the sound of Waters voice, this album is an absolute classic from start to finish. I HIGHLY recommend this album (in LP format) to those who enjoy good music.
