This book is poorly written. If the author had a good editor and less ego (The "about the author" section is possibly the longest I have ever read and the author really loves herself), this book might be readable. - Take just one example of the author's poor writing style
"she curled against a tree in a dirty white gown" - the tree was wearing a dirty gown? A waste of time and money!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't like the writing style at all. Aug. 29 2009
By Bibliophile - Published on

I found the writing style annoying to say the least. I must admit that I did not finish reading it; mostly because I found it so hard to get into. I just found the writer's choice of wording distracting and sappy; kind of "smurfy" even. I was very disappointed. I was all revved up about this one after reading the reviews. It turned out to be an expensive mistake. It would have helped had I been able to read a few of the pages before I ordered it. I would have seen right up front that this was just not something that was going to work for me. Unfortunately that option was not available for this selection. I think I was hoping to find something similar to C.L. Wilson's "Tairen Soul" series. I couldn't have been more wrong. If C.L. Wilson is what you like, this is not the book for you!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story but redundant conversations weaken enjoyment March 29 2009

While I enjoyed this book and would certainly say it was worth the read, I found the repeating of dialog annoying. The main character, expresses her doubts, resistance to change, need to embrace change, take a risk, trust, don't trust over and over to the point where I wanted to say, get over yourself!
From the reviews I read i thought this book would be a little more sophisticated. it had some good messages, but I thought the details about clothing and repetition boring and added nothing to the story line.

5.0 out of 5 stars Captivating Sept. 9 2009

I can honestly say it takes alot to grab me and keep me interested in a book. Warriors in the Mist has done just that. The characters hold your attention with genuine appeal. I would recomend this book to anyone who is looking for a book to escape into.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst fantasy or romance I've ever read Sept. 26 2009
By Natwoo - Published on
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I bought this book based on other reviews by Amazon readers. What a mistake! I've read a lot of fantasy and a lot of romance. This is possibly the worst I've ever read in either category. Things that bothered me: 1. Constantly sobbing and crying heroine 2. Incestual rapes (really, do they need to be in this book and all through the story??) 3. Lame and constant sexual references 4. Characters were just haphazardly thrown in - like the mysterious twin sister vampire...Vampire? Any development on why, how she became a vampire or anything? No, she just grinds her lower jaw and bites and sucks blood. Thats it. Same thing happens with other villians - just thrown in. Poor development 5. Horrible editing - I do mean horrible. I can tell this book did not go through a major publisher as there are typos all the way through as well as half sentences repeated when a new page starts and incorrect spellings. There was probably a typo at least every other page. I quit trying to attempt to figure out what the characters would be saying sometimes because the quote marks were in the wrong places and multiple times you could tell an edit was made to a sentence but the sentence ended up jumbled and didn't make any sense.
I was hoping for a great fantasy romance. What I got was a smutty and poorly written story - I even started laughing at parts because the editing was so poor and the characters were just so terrible. I guess I kept reading in hopes that it would get better, but it was awful to the end. I am going to toss this book out - not a chance I'll be reading it again or recommending it to anyone else - EVER!
