Yael is a great writer. I enjoyed the subject matter very much although I was appalled by the way people were treated at times. The second book paled a bit after the first one, Olivia Mourning. Still, the history of the people and the settling of the land is very interesting. I look forward to the third and fourth books.
Excellent series! I learned about the Underground Railroad and the people who ran it without looking for reward. A great story and characters. I was only sad that the final book came to an end.
I loved this book. Have read parts one and two of Olivia's story. The author really captures the period and creates characters you care about. Excellent writing
I would have given this book five starts but there were pages missing. There were 6 pages at a time in two or three chunks. Amazon needs to get it's act together this is the second book i've had an issue with.
Just about to read the third in the series & hope it's as good as the first two. Gripping story, one you just have to know what happens next. Very smart of them to put the first one free, you just have to buy the other two!

A really good follow on from Olivia series book 1. The author keeps you captivated throughout and the unlikely events in the book adds to this. I would highly recommend this book.
3.0 out of 5 starsI couldn't keep a fondness for the characters and was disappointed in the whole story

I read the first book in this series, and was sufficiently interested to download this one. The interest faded. I couldn't keep a fondness for the characters and was disappointed in the whole story.
