"This valuable compendium organizes, evaluates, and places into context online business models, trends, and technologies. It considers where the Web has been and where it is going, with implications of these developments for business. 5.0 out of 5 stars Wow is this FULL of all that is Web 2.0. Feb. 3 2009
By Larry Slater - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Now you may not know much about what is now called Web 2.0, if not then which planet have YOU been living on, but after reading this book you will know more then even that nerdy 16 year old next door.

Tom Funk jumps from topic to topic with the speed of a run-away broad-band connection yet seems to pull from each topic all that you would need to know to talk knowledgeably with your marketing director at work. He shows you case studies of how each area can and is utilized in real-world situations which is nice seeing as most of this stuff sounds like science fiction to the uninitiated.

Just looking at the Index will tell you that there is something different about this book. Starbucks is right next to Strategy Analytics and MMORPGs is next to Mobile Advertising. Huh? But that's not as important as knowing that you will learn how all these come together to get you up to speed in this ever changing world of Web 2.0.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful for the Trillium Digital staff Feb. 27 2009
By Reid Greenberg - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Gotta say, the book is wonderful. Fun, informative and an easy read. As a "seasoned" digital marketer, Tom's book was a fantastic reminder on topics I had forgotten as well as an abundance of information on ideas I had never thought of.

Clear, concise and timely. Anyone who runs a website or has an online marketing role should buy this book.

Great work, Tom!

4.0 out of 5 stars Instructional Guide on Web 2.0 strategies & the evolution of change on the Web May 1 2009
By brentgrab - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
great intermediate level instructional guide on how to maximize profits through social media, how to create 'sticky' clients, and how to develop new relationships through social networking. A lot of 'history' of the web and how it's evolved... most of that I skipped over, but you may like to read it.

Mr. Funk gives a comprehensive overview of the web with up to date information and a socio-historical context. It's rare to find a book of this sort that is both useful, technically sound, and fun to read. Highly recommended.
