Dr. Andrew is engagingly honest about sharing her personal struggles and the paths she has taken to liberate herself and her family from the negative beliefs and unwarranted expectations that are at the root of many child-rearing challenges and potentially life-threatening behaviours. Even if you are not completely convinced by the theoretical framework she advances, which draws heavily upon the work of Diederik Wolsak, a Registered Professional Counsellor, her prescriptive steps are persuasive: make mindfulness, good listening practices, respect, gratitude, and kindness your servants. It takes practice, and it could be transformative.
Okay, I take it back. We could all use this book.

This book has changed the way of how I look at myself and at my children. I have gained insight in why I feel and react to my kids‘ behaviour in a certain way. Now, I get far less often upset and, miraculously, my kids are far more often willing to cooperate in situations in which before resistance prevailed. We are much better able to connect and to communicate in an effective way.
- understand your child's behavior and your own
- improve communications, deescalate conflicts and banish blame
- strengthen your relationships
- gain a new perspective on your role as parent and teacher
With her deep knowledge about the inherent worth of every human being and the resulting consequences she opens total new prospectus to us to bring up a happier generation.
