I have the first book from the same creators ("Hello, Cupcake!") and enjoy both books as candy for the eyes and mouth. The cupcakes are adorable and the designs inspiring, serving as a challenge for the epicurious and a jump-off point for the more daring. A great addition to a cookbook collection offering fun alternatives to traditional cakes without the tackiness of over-iced "cupcake cakes."

Not all of us are bakers or want to spend hours and hours in the kitchen. There are tons of cookbooks with scratch recipes for cupcakes and frostings. This book plainly states that it's recipes are from mixes and store bought icing, so it's a really nice option if you want something faster than scratch. Nice selection of cupcakes for adults and kids themes, and I found the instructions pretty clear. Nice photos, and great details about what kind of candies to use, including brand names. Also has good source section for supplies. Lots of inspiration, too. For instance, the squirrel cupcakes are just a few changes away from becoming skunks, and I could see how they could just as easily become cats.

This book is truly amazing. I actually bought several of these books to give away as gifts. This is a book packed with ideas for every occassion that you can think of and probably a few more. The ideas and points are fantastic. This book makes the the most uncapable baker to be able to accomplish the most professional looking and tasting cupcakes. Such simple tricks and ideas to use. I brought 3 different ones to a fundraising bake sale and everyone was amazed at how talented I was as a baker. My two granddaughters helped me out as well. The best secret is that I am NOY a talented or accomplished baker but do people really need to know my new little secret.
