Are there different wheelchair varieties?
Wheelchairs varieties can be most clearly divided between those which are motorised and those which are not.
Traditional wheelchairs are either self-propelled or require someone to push you. These tend to be cheaper than motorised versions, and have the benefit of being more hands-on in approach.
If, however, you want to save yourself a little physical effort, a motorised option might be preferable. These can be controlled by a joystick or switchboard, which is typically located on the wheelchair's armrest. They also tend to come with added features, like stair-climbing functionality, that will ensure you're never limited in where you can go.
