This is a new author for me, and I was so excited to read this book. What a fresh premise! Girl in a bad car accident and in a coma falls in love in an alternate reality while asleep for four months. Adele seemingly spends an eternity with Jones, where they talk for hours on end, learn all about each other and share wonderful experiences in this amazing place. It’s a terrific story, brimming with emotion and heart, and I loved all of these characters!
This book was fascinating to read, and I was intrigued with how easily the story flowed, revealing the dream world and Adel's real world. I love all of Adel's big, over-protective brothers and really enjoyed the side romance between her oldest brother and her best friend. The progression of the relationship between Adele and Jones in the real world was authentic, intriguing and appealing, and I was with them every step of their journey to forever. And wow! Does this one ever give a very different meaning to “forever" than the typical romance! Fantome creates such vivid pictures with her words that the scenes come alive in brilliant color. She provides just enough detail so the reader is immersed as a part of this book world, rather than simply a casual observer. I easily fell in love with both of Adele's realities and wasn’t ready to let any of these characters go.
A review is supposed to be about the book, but there’s something you need to know about this author. Due to a very scary crisis in my family, my mind has been a bit preoccupied (gross understatement), and I bungled my review to the point it seemed like I had read a completely different book. This author brought it to my attention with kindness, professionalism and grace, and I am so grateful for her compassionate understanding. Even if I had hated this book, which is clearly not the case, I would read more of her work for that reason alone. My personal situation aside, Jones and Adel's story is unique, enchanting and utterly amazing and will captivate you from the very beginning. Don’t miss this 1-Click must read!
