I tend to follow the Whole30 "lifestyle" for the most part anyway, so this wasn't a huge shock to me. But if you're someone who's interested and doesn't know where to start, this is an excellent book. The recipes are amazing and you'll forget about what you're *not* eating, and just enjoy great food!
I'm someone who bloats super easily, so, I basically feel bloated all the time. A couple weeks into this, I didn't even notice that I HADN'T felt bloated! It was just something I forgot about! Amazing feeling. So if your gut needs a reset, I recommend this for that too.
Our old book from the 80's is very detailed. But WHOLE30 is an excellent book. It teaches how to cook. I had to introduce a little good bread back into my diet, though for strength. One slice does it. Don't know why. I do not need to lose weight. It is just a very healthy way of eating and very easy to follow. How can you go wrong with a variety of vegetables, fruit and a little meat? Food combining is important. With my knowledge, I can work with it.. Basically NO SUGAR! except fruit. Very good book, we are keeping it. We were surprised that we were already doing most of the things suggested. 4 stars because it says you can eat all you want. Portions are important so as not to overload the digestive system. Thanks.
