Product Description

Ashling never understood some of the oddities in her upbringing, until a family secret is revealed: her father is from the distant future. It has been predetermined that he will return to his native time on Ashling's twentieth birthday and she must go with him. Future society has a critical shortage of women and humanity is threatened with extinction.

Given time to recover from the shock and to prepare for a vastly different civilization, Ashling accepts her fate. She's required to take several husbands, and produce offspring to help prevent the human race from dying out. After a sheltered childhood with limited social interaction, Ashling is aroused by the idea of having romantic partners (more than one of them) for the first time in her life.

As soon as she's introduced to her prospective mates, feelings of being overwhelmed are quickly replaced by desire for the men who wish to court her. Ashling takes three husbands, reveling in the passion she shares with each of them. Life becomes one delicious encounter after another.

And then her father is accused of a crime, and the only man willing to help free him is the man Ashling wants most, and the one she may never have.

I loved this book. There is romance, passion , action. It has everything. Ashling, the day she turns to 20 years old, travels to the future to fulfill her destiny as a Wikomsette where woman population is scarce and every female has to do their part to restore the human population. Also I loved the ending..so unexpected. I recommend this book.
5.0 out of 5 stars Can the future be saved? May 22 2016

Oh boy I am so glad I got the read the second book of this series, which you can read as a stand alone but reading the first makes it so much better.
Twenty years has passed and Regina and Brannon daughter Ashling has to return to the future with her father to do her duty as a Wikomsette. No one knows except a few people that she is from the past one of them being Jules her assistant who she is attracted too right away but he is too young to be considered her husband. Ashling settles in pretty quickly and chooses three husbands Gregor, Kal and Eltrion and it works for them. Gregor lets Jules go because he doesn't like how attached Jules is to Ashling and she is so mad cause she regarded Jules as a friend who could understand her. One day her father is arrested and no one knows why but Jules helps her sneak in to see her dad then he is arrested after. Somethings brewing and strange things are happening and in the middle of it all Ashling has found out she is pregnant.
This story is very exciting and it was nice to see how a Wikomsette is treated when she chooses the husbands and has a household unlike her mom Regina.

4.0 out of 5 stars Irresistible Story April 29 2016
By Julianne Knutson - Published on Amazon.com

“A Wife for the Future” is the second installment of The Wikomsette series by Emerald Lavere.

Ashling has never understood her upbringing, until she found out that her father isn’t from her time zone. Instead he’s from the distant future. Now, on her twentieth birthday, her fate is to go with him to the distant future where she’s the key to help humanity from being extinct.

Since she’s been sheltered and having little interaction socially, Ashling jumps at the chance of the forbidden and finding a love that she’s only read about. Instead of one suitor, she’ll have many to choose from.

But will it be love or duty that wins in the end?

Ms. Lavere once again did an outstanding job. She made a complicated plot into a an amazing story that was engaging and full of tender, sweet and sexy moments between her three husbands and other suitors. Oh, how I wish to jump into this book and have myself three wonderful husbands. (hehe).

I highly recommend!

4.0 out of 5 stars I did read it and was glad that I actually enjoyed it May 26 2016

I wasn't sure if I was going to continue with this series after reading the first book. Obviously, I did read it and was glad that I actually enjoyed it. This book just has an overall different feel from the first. I felt connected to Ashling and thought her a strong unique female character. I enjoyed seeing the relationships build between Ashling and the other characters. The storyline is a dystopian future with limited females and Ashling must help save the human race. It's a different unique read and I was happy with it. Emerald Laver's writing style is pretty easy to follow and flows well.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is what I'm talking about, this story blew me away! Love the fantasy, the suspense and the comedy! (4.5 stars) May 23 2016

This is what I'm talking about right here! This story blew me away. Perhaps it was three years to hone her craft, refine her voice and solidify more plot elements for this futuristic society but whatever it was no matter what it took Emerald Lavere to get there, it was very much welcomed by this reader!

**Spoiler Alert - if you have not read The Wikomsette - DO NOT read any further!**

A Wife for the Future picks up 20 years into the future from where The Wikomsette left off. Brannon came back at the end of the story having received the information in the future that Regina was pregnant when she left her tribe behind and that it was Brannon's child. He's granted a 20 year pass to return to the past and raise his daughter. A daughter, a commodity so scarce in his society that a woman at the age of 20 is to come out into society and take on at least three husbands up front and then within the next few years, add up to 5 more husbands to her tribe.

In this society men do the child rearing from birth. Women are to be cherished in their society and protected with the utmost care and provided the highest level of security imaginable. They are provided elaborate mansions and expansive grounds complete with guard houses to protect their ever expanding tribe. Sounds like a dream, right? It's not easy on Ashling, having been raised two thousand years before this future exists, even with the coaching of her father on the customs and ways of his time.

The heat ... this is where the heat is from Book 1, it's all within these juicy pages. Lady Ambria is hilarious, you'll adore this woman with her sex toys, positions and literature on way's to please your men. The bit about the "cocks" had me rolling! The selection of Ashling's first three husbands is intense and the heat between each of them as she "accepts" them into her tribe is off the charts hot. The difference obviously is in Book 1, Regina did not choose her men, they were given and thrust upon her, Ashling is free to choose from the suitors that have been pre-screened as viable males, found to be in optimal, physical and emotional health and more importantly, fertile, to provide for growing the tribe.

This story had comedy, passion and suspense. I adored following up with various members of Ashling's mother's tribe as she comes into contact with each in her new world. Ax as always is a pleasure to behold and the story that unfolds for Ashling is wholly enjoyable to read. I definitely recommend you read both in order, you will not be disappointed!

Highly recommended!
