I'm posting this because there is some confusion over the description that has caused all of the negative reviews.
Short version: Works fine, looks nice, but does not come with adhesive pads.
This is a Wireless sensor bar. As opposed to a wired sensor bar (like the official one) it does not need a cable to connect to the Wii or Wii U. In fact, it does not have any connection the Wii/Wii U at ALL.
How the Wiimotes work is that there's a little infared camera inside the controller itself, which track two points of infared light transmitted by the sensor bar. You can see this by going into setting and adjusting sensitivity - it will show you what the controller is seeing, which would be points of light that correspond to the sensor bar or other bright objects, such as sunlight or candles. The wired version has a simple two-pin plug for power, and the console can't even tell if one is plugged in or not. It has no affect on nunchucks or other accessories, as they do not interact with the sensor bar
I have included a picture of it. It is black with a logo on the right side, about the same size as the official sensor bar, and has a round power button and red indicator on the front. it comes with a clear stand for flat screen tvs, and takes 4xAAA batteries. It has rubberised pads on the bottom, and the stand has a soft pad. It does NOT come with adhesive pads to keep the sensor bar in place, so I have to tape it in place.
I have purchased it because I do not use the sensor bar enough to want to deal with the messy cord every time I move my Wii U, but I do want to keep a sensor bar handy whenever I want to use one. If you use the sensor bar a lot, you may want to stick with a wired version - but I haven't tested how long the battery lasts.
