Winegard FlatWave Indoor HDTV Antenna
Access free over-the-air channels to watch top-rated shows, live

The Winegard FlatWave Amped Indoor HDTV Antenna's enhanced dual band antenna features a state-of-the-art, ultra-low-noise preamplifier embedded directly at the elements, where 100% of the signal is amplified. The innovative USB power supply provides energy savings by only consuming power while the TV is powered on.

Long Range Amplified Indoor Antenna

The FlatWave Amped offers an extended reception range of up to 50 miles--ideal for smaller communities, or areas where conventional antennas have trouble getting a signal. The revolutionary Clear Circuit technology provides an incredibly low-noise figure of only 1.0dB, letting you receive more channels and minimizing pixelization and dropouts. Dual band reception means you don't miss out on channels that UHF-only antennas can't pick up. Install it in minutes and say goodbye to big monthly cable bills.

Free HDTV Channels

90% of the most-watched TV shows are available on local stations. Why pay for the same programming you can get for free and in high definition with the FlatWave? Many local stations now broadcast in crystal-clear high definition, and also broadcast audio in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, giving you the ultimate home theatre experience--but with no monthly bills. No monthly fees, no contract, no installation fees, no credit checks and no cancellation fees. You can save an average of $1,000 per year by switching to FlatWave.

Unbelievably Razor Thin

The FlatWave is less than 2/100 of an inch thick (0.43mm). You won't believe how thin the FlatWave antenna is. Designed with black on one side and white on the other, the FlatWave can be flipped to display the side that best suits your home decor.

In most areas you can receive your local ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and PBS channels as well as new "digital subchannels" that broadcast 24 hour news, weather, kids programming, and your favorite syndicated shows. This includes 90% of the most watched television shows including programs such as NBC Sunday Night Football, NCIS, Dancing With The Stars, 60 Minutes and more.

I set this up in the front window of my house and was very pleased to get 8 channels. Some of these were pixellated, but I was still happy to get some channels to watch. On a whim, I decided to try it in the rear of the house which is at a lower (below ground) level. I was amazed to receive 27 channels by placing the device on the window. I had to move the device to a wall as it was impractical to leave it on the window, but I still get 21 channels, all of which have very good quality. Most of these are from Buffalo, NY.

I now get City TV, CBS, CHCH, Global, ABC, Escape, TVO, and many more (as they say).
The number of channels seems to vary depending on the time of day you scan and, as others have said, the position of the device is critical. Even moving it an inch or two one way or the other can change things dramatically.

If considering a purchase take a look at tvfool.com where you can input your address to see what transmissions are available.

I cut the cable cord over a year ago, and decided to try this 'just to see'.
I am very glad I did.

Based on the 5-star ratings, I'm saying it's OK. After 2 full weeks of placing my antenna in every corner imaginable, my reception will stay the same. I looked at the frequency charts and did in-depth research and determined that I was "eligible" for four (4) OTA stations in HDTV. My result is always between 2 and 4 stations. I did try the rabbit ears plus a loop and found the results inferieur. You must consider location and orientation. I live in the back of a high-rise apt. complex with all the towers way out yonder on the opposite side. Such is life! The long coax cable has a smaller diameter than I expected and the leaf is as described. You can certainly bend it and overall it is quite sturdy and can take a fair amount of punishment when you are discouraged! BTW: Placed near or on the floor, against a metal heater, and along an outside wall, the reception was at its very best. I would suggest you forget about the "experts" and just work hard at it. I did cut the cord.

It works well. The signal is strong, I only get 10-11 channels depending on weather. However all the channels remain connected at all times. I probably would get more if I was higher up in Downsview area and if there wasn't other buildings blocking. I don't receive American Channels only local Canadian but I don't care as long as I'm not pay and arm & leg to Rogers nor Bell for TV that's not worth my hard earned money. I might purchase a Digital TV converter box to see if it can pick up more channels at a later date. Otherwise I'm satisfied. Btw, it's bigger than I thought. Get it if you're considering.

I was surprised that this worked very well indoors and through walls and insulation. I tested this on my dining room tv which isn't close to a window and I was surprised that it picked up all the same channels that my outdoor antenna receives. I bought this before I bought an outdoor antenna as I was debating whether or not to set up the whole house or just a single tv. Guess I'll give this to a relative or friend or sell on Craigslist now.

Bought used. Great reception and overall value for the price. Much more satisfied than I was with my non amplified antenna. Interference when there's some (two broadcasting towers in my locale in two different directions means I have to have it at an angle between the two to get the most channels) is no longer heavily disruptive.

I have also purchased another antenna for another TV I will be testing tomorrow. This one is much cheaper but is also amplified in the same way. Both make the same range claims.

I am blown away by easy it is to get reception where I am. I am in a ground floor condo surrounded by other condos and so far I have managed to get 8 channels. I am still tweaking it but I am so happy to have the channels I want and cutting the cable cord! Edited to add that I place this in the bottom window groove and it bent slightly back and I was able to increase my TV reception to 4 more channels. Laying flat against the window wasn't doing the trick, nor having it at the top of the window. All I can say is set it up, do your channel scan and play with it, I found my solution by accident as it had fallen when it was at the top.

I live at Bathurst/Steeles in Toronto in a west facing apartment, so I technically shouldn't get much of anything channel-wise, but due to the amp feature, I get 15 channels, including a US channel that I shouldn't be able to.

I tried putting the antenna beside the TV as shown in one of the pictures, but that gave me no channels. After putting it up in the window with the handy little sticky tabs provided, I got the 15 channels. The video and the audio is very clear. Occasionally a channel or two will break up and you'll lose audio, and part of the video gets pixellated, but it comes back in just a second or two.

I like how the antenna comes with the plug to plug into the electrical outlet, but can also plug into the USB slot on the TV.

While the 18 foot coax seems like it it might be too long and you'll have to figure out where loop the extra coax, it's really not even enough length after you put the antenna in the window, run the coax down the side of the window and try to run it along the baseboard to the TV. I really do wish the coax was longer. I can't even put an additional length of coax onto it to make it easier to run, because the amp feature requires the additional power, and needs to be near either the TV's USB port, or the electrical outlet. My coax is hanging through the air to get from the window to the TV. Frankly, that's the only drawback of the antenna and why I had to give it 4 stars instead of 5.
