A howling good time!Reviewed in Australia on October 27, 2020
The werewolf pack moves to the Australian countryside and gets a fun, post-menopausal twist in Lisa M White's first full-length novel. (Yes, you read that right, 'fun' and 'menopausal' in the same sentence.) The plot follows heroine Gillian's discovery that menopause holds a howling lot more than she bargained for when she turns into a werewolf for the first time at a full moon retreat. Gillian's insights about everything from social media to the dramas of school drop-offs are funny and make her a very "human" (well, mostly human!) and relatable character. The well-paced plot stays interesting throughout with original twists on the werewolf trope, lots of little mysteries and a great finale. This is the first of the series and I look forward to following the adventures of Gillian, her family, her new friends and some villains who are due for their just desserts!
Lots of funReviewed in Australia on May 23, 2020
I loved this book, and can’t wait for more!!! I live in South Australia, and really enjoyed when a place I’ve been turned up, made the story really pop for me. I also related to the characters, especially Gillian, we are around the same age, and I loved reading about someone else who doesn’t quite have it all together yet!! If you’re looking for a fun read, with some magic, lots of excitement and laugh out loud moments, give this a go. And if someone could let me know where I can get my very own Jake, that’d be great!!

The book gets better and better as it goes onReviewed in the United States on June 28, 2021
I thought the concept was interesting and really liked the overall story idea. The book did not initially draw me in as much as I wanted, but I’m very glad I persevered. As the story continued, it became more and more intriguing. The action kicked up and I was completely engrossed. There are enough unsolved pieces that I’m really curious to see what the author does with book 2. Would definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed this first book of a new series. The characters are engaging and the world building is very good.
