Product Description

Product Description

When the Rho Project’s lead scientist, Dr. Donald Stephenson, is imprisoned for his crimes against humanity, the world dares to hope the threat posed by the Rho Project’s alien technologies is finally over.

The world is wrong.

In Switzerland, scientists working on the Large Hadron Collider have discovered a new threat, a scientific anomaly capable of destroying the earth—and only Rho Project technology can stop it. In exchange for a full pardon, Dr. Stephenson agrees to create a wormhole that will send the anomaly into deep space. But his promise masks the alien agenda that brought the Rho Ship to earth.

Now a trio of altered humans, Heather McFarland and Mark and Jennifer Smythe, must infiltrate Stephenson’s wormhole project and stop it, no matter the cost. The ultimate battle has begun and, this time, mankind cannot afford to lose. The final installment to Richard Phillips’s Rho Agenda trilogy brings the epic tale to an explosive conclusion that will echo long past the final page.

After waiting for some time for this third book of the series, I can assure you that I was not disappointed. Absolutely fantastic reading. Although the book starts out a bit slow (the first 30%), the author kicks into high gear with a story that just glues the book to your fingers. You find yourself wanting to read ...just another chapter. You can't seem to easily put the book down. The action scenes describes vividly what is happening. I have read other stories written by other authors and can confirm that even if you describe a fight/action scene it doesn't automatically make it captivating. This authors does it right. The author spends lots of time describing the science behind this adventure and does a very good job of it. I loved the whole series so much I would recommend that you read all three books. Money very very well spent. Another thing about this series is that it does have an ending unlike some others who write a never ending story. Because of this you are not disappointed to get to the end of a very good well written captivating intriguing story. This story would make a great SCIFI movie.

I'll start with why I give this 'only' a 3 star rating. I really did enjoy reading it. Fast-paced, action-packed, no major plot holes that I could see and quite creative. It's a book I was able to mostly get lost in. And of course if you've read the first two books you have no choice but to read this one to get some closure. And that's ok. The spy/action stuff is pretty typical though as is the dialogue. I don't want to insult Mr. Phillips by saying it's derivative but that's how it feels. So while I couldn't give it four I nevertheless feel Richard Phillips has done well. I'm comparing him with writers like Stephen Hunter on the action side and Dean Koontz on the creative side so he's got some tough competition in this review. I recommend the book with a caveat that you read the first two first. It would be far less enjoyable if read alone.

I recently discovered this book on Amazon as the third in the Rho Agenda Trilogy. Having already read the first two novels some time ago, I decided to re-read the entire trilogy from the start. Just completed late last night after four days of reading enjoyment.

This series has a well developed plot line and characters, and was very satisfying. In addition to the closure that this third book provides to the main plot line, there are enough dangling ideas to provide for a continuation of the story line going forward. I very much look forward to that.

Great job, Richard !!
