Product Description

Do you dream of writing a book? Want to discover your creative voice, overcome the limiting thoughts that prevent you writing, and leave your legacy?

It is said that 80% of people want to write a book. Yet only 1% succeed.

While other books explain the steps of how to write a book and self-publish, Write Your Book at Fifty—A Call to Women gives you good reasons to do so. Sharing stories from new writers, recently published to bestselling status, it removes the mystique of what constitutes “a real writer.” It shows us that we are all more powerful and perceptive than we think.

Reading this book motivates and reminds you of:

  • the deep joy and satisfaction of expressing your creative voice
  • the importance of adding more meaning and purpose to life
  • the magic that happens when you honor your truest self
  • the tremendous value of insight gained through experience
  • the positive difference you can make in leaving a legacy
  • the need to be prepared when excuses come to derail you and how other writers overcome them
  • why now is the BEST time in history to write and be your own publisher.

“Read this and write. Women have a world of experience to share,” says Marci Shimoff, NY Times bestselling author of Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul and Happy for No Reason.

This is a small book with a lasting message. If you loved Elizabeth Gilbert’s Big Magic, Steven Pressfield’s War of Art and Marianne Williamson’s The Age of Miracles, read this.

Most women who dream about writing a book don't ever make it happen. Do yourself a favor. Be bold and take the first concrete step—download this book and let the magic begin.

I loved reading this book ! You will too as it propels into the realization that you MUST writer, MUST share your story , as you truly wish to do.
This book will inspire you, energize you, and provide you with the support you need to write that first book and share it with the world no matter how old you are. The author reaches out to you to realize that , in her words," The world could benefit from the insights and stories of more women. Western society, sadly, can give the impression that age leads to retirement from life, creativity, and contribution. That your best years are over. That your knowledge is out of date. That you don’t that much to offer any more. If you are over fifty, you know that nothing could be further from the truth".
As well as engaging the dream in you, the author gives sound practical advice on how to do the dream and see it come to life

A Writer's Digest survey showed that 80% of people would like to write a book. But most of us never make it to the finish line. This is a great book if you're looking for the inspiration and motivation to begin. Not only is the content well-written and informative, but she also includes interviews with other women who have walked this path already - very helpful!

What an encouraging book. It goes to the heart of why we should write, and exposes all the phantoms that lie about why we shouldn't. Write Your Book at Fifty reminded me the Brenda Ueland classic: If You Want to Write.

HASH(0xa43d8b1c) out of 5 stars There's still time to write your book! Jan. 19 2016

Write Your Book at 50 opens your mind to being creative, inspires you to find your uniqueness and encourages you to celebrate it all - in writing. It offers just enough of a kick to let you know that you're ultimately responsible for what you do with your life but does so very gently and from a place of understanding.

The author's discussion of finding one's voice particularly resonated with me. I'm only now beginning to realize how much I've stifled my wants and needs. Finding my voice in writing is finding my voice in life.

I love this book most because it made me feel like I still have time to accomplish the goals that I’ve put off for so long. I'd recommend it to any woman over 50 who is looking for the inspiration to find her story and tell her story. I thought the interviews with writers who have managed to succeed at publishing a book were a great part of the book and even though it’s not a how-to book, there are steps one can follow to overcome their obstacles and step onto the right path.

HASH(0xa1b69384) out of 5 stars skills or hidden abilities you do have that would be the perfect basis for a book of your own Jan. 19 2016
By Jackie Charley - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
For all those of us who thought we might have missed the boat, this book itself is concrete proof that as a group of maturing women we just ain’t done yet! The author’s inclusive and encouraging tone assures you that it doesn’t matter whether you’ve had a high-flying career or none, you can write too.

It isn’t a how-to-write book. Rather it skilfully helps you explore what knowledge, skills or hidden abilities you do have that would be the perfect basis for a book of your own.

I recommend this book to anyone who would love to write but is still unsure whether they have what it takes. By the end of it you’ll realise that you do.

Apparently 80% of people want to write a book, but only 2% do. Write Your Book at Fifty outlines lots of great reasons to write a book from the deeply personal, through self expression and professional development to business reasons.

Martin addresses a number of the common obstacles that stop people from writing and provides readers small, but very pragmatic set of steps to making a start and then completing their first book, whatever their age.

Nice combination of inspiration from many female writers over 50, and practical advice.

A wonderful empowering book for women that engages them and encourages them to share their voice as they have a unique perspective on life. You can tell the author has a real passion for helping women to find their voice, which inspires you to take action and do the same with the tools she gives you in the book. The resources she directs you to along with the pitfalls to avoid will have you writing your book in no time. But the encouragement thru personal stories and tid bits of wisdom will see you finish your goal of writing your book.
