This is the only Blu-ray that I have that will not play on my Blu-ray player. (Including the more recently released 'Age Of Ultron'. Not sure what is the problem. No way to contact the manufacturer. :(

It would be great if I could watch it, but with Fox's new technology to prevent piracy it's unable to play in any of my players. My regular blue ray player, the one on my computer or even my brand new xbox one are unable to read the disk. What's the point of putting in a security device on a disk without putting the ability to update the firmware on your player to even watch the disk. This is foolishness and highly irritating. I'm not buying a brand new blue ray player just to keep up with software from greedy movie execs that frankly don't put out but a half dozen somewhat decent movies a year if that. Time to take a stand as a public, this needs to stop.

I can't pick anything less than one star. Since the disc and the replacement were unplayable in 2 players in my home I don't know if the movie is any good or not.
As always Amazon had prompt delivery and replacement was speedy.

As for some of the comments before. I purchased this blue ray back in November 2014. My wife and I finally found some time to sit down and was looking forward to seeing this movie. We put the disc in our blue ray player just to find out that it won't read it. I don't understand that they make discs that can't be read by a player that is only a few years old. What a rip off!

Thoroughly enjoyed the added content in the film. Really added an extra dimension to the storytelling. The design of the steelbook is for the most part equally fantastic. The only thing that may give pause is that this steelbook has the same inverted spine problem the Deadpool steelbook had.

I'm sure the film itself is worth watching as I've heard good things but my Blu Ray player is unable to play the disc.
I notice when I move it around in the light the silver part looks like the edges are wrinkled and the plastic edge is rough in places when I run my finger along it.
Thankfully I claimed the digital code (which is good till 2017 if you're still considering buying this) for Google Play so I still have a chance to see what I bought and don't have to bother anyone trying to get it replaced.

X-Men 'First Class' was not the massive hit that 'The Avengers' was, but in many ways, it was a better film. Both were excellent, and after his run scripting 'Astonishing X-Men' for John Cassaday, I'd love to see Joss Whedon bring that tale to the big screen. But 'First Class' had some of the smartest superhero storytelling ever seen on film, and James MacAvoy and Michael Fassbender were brilliant, adding entirely new dimensions to Prof X and Magneto.

Merging the two casts was a very good idea. Everything about this altered version of Claremont and Byrne's classic X-men tale is done right, especially the Sentinels. As a kid, I always hated the Sentinels, they were a joke. Wolverine would cut them to scrap metal, Magneto would just wave his hand. But these Sentinels are frightening, adaptive machines that mimic whatever gets thrown at them.

The cast is great, the story is great, the action is great... and despite my annoyance with time-travel storylines, the method they opt for is better than usual. This is not only the smartest and most entertaining entry in the X-men franchise, it is also one of the best superhero films to date.

By The Movie Guy HALL OF FAMETOP 10 REVIEWER on Jan. 10 2015
Format: DVD
With all the excitement of MIB 3, we get a time travel X-men because they killed off too many people and wanted to get Jennifer Lawrence in a blue body suit by expanding Raven's roll, pun intended. It seems the humans have gained the upper hand and the mutants are on the "brink of extinction" which would also kill the franchise, something they attempted with this film. They must stop the humans from getting Raven's DNA which allows them to build better mutant killing machines.

Only Logan/Wolverine Man (Hugh Jackman) can go back in time, or at least his mind. Appropriately, he wakes up in 1973 a bit groggy with a lava lamp by his side and Roberta Flack eerily singing "First Time Ever I saw Your Face" a song more popular in 1972. Logan must get the team back together and convince them of the mission. Much of the film consisted of springing Magneto, which wittily included another era song by Jim Croce. Unfortunately they ran out of royalty checks and couldn't continue with that fun.

The action/comedy/drama was a let down from previous films. While the film maintained the special effects, I felt Jennifer Lawrence's acting talents were wasted, although I predict she will take over as the slow motion/ stop action mode blue skinned princess from that Avatar blue thing.

The film had potential, but the script fell short. Still worth watching as a fun popcorn film.

Parental Guide: 1 necessary F-bomb. No sex. Jackman shows his butt again.
