From the Studio
Xperimental Eros delivers a searing spectacle of celluloid sensuality for the pleasure of the body's largest sex organ--the brain! Using exotic tropes and erotic footage from the world's oldest genre, this program of ardent auteurs spins grindhouse dross into art-house gold with perverse panache. Curated by Noel Lawrence, with films by Jeff Krulik, Mark Street, Tom Palazzolo, Naomi Uman, Thomas Draschan and Stella Friedrichs, Lewis Klahr, Peggy Ahwesh, Julia Ostertag, and Oscar Perez. USA, 2007, 93 mins.

Then there is very beautiful, psychedelic work like Naomi Uman's "Removed" in which the female figure is systematically blotted out from each frame of the film with nail polish and Peggy Ahwesh's stunning "The Color of Love" in which a Super 8 film is slowed down, dyed in rainbow colors, and the action intermittently dissolves into celluloid decay.
Thomas Draschan's "Influence of Ocular Light" isn't erotic at least on a conscious level but it's an amazing montage of found footage films.
As a bonus, the collection also features two short subject stags that are scored by a band called the PornOrchestra which (get this) compose soundtracks for porn films. It's not erotic in the way you'd expect but very interesting and worth repeat viewings which was why I bought the DVD after renting it.
