"Badass" is a great choice for someone who is wants to read a self-help book but doesn't want to be weighed down with overly technical terms or too much religious reference (or overly long and boring chapters!) I never really get into self-help books - the few I've started have obviously failed to catch my attention since they're sitting in a corner somewhere, not even one quarter read and gathering dust.
Jen does not pretend to be anyone other than a person who has lived, made mistakes, learned from those mistakes, sought professional guidance, looked deep into herself, found some answers and now is a gal who shares her words of wisdom concisely and with sweet, and not-so-sweet, kick-you-in-the-butt humor. I am very tickled to be entertained by a book while gaining some helpful insight into kicking my own butt... and I love when I come to passages that make me laugh out loud. Ya, I quite liked this book :)
