Interesting stuff. Came in good condition. Had the pleasure of having this guy as my teacher! Of course, my fellow students and I had to buy HIS book for HIS class. Smart business man right there, that's how you know you're getting quality content ;)

I am an independent singer/songwriter in Canada. This book was recommended to me by a family member who had seen Michael in an interview, talking about his book. I am just about to release my first album so she thought it might be helpful. I'll be honest, like many of us, I have spent the past few years trying to get some understanding of the music industry and have been to the websites, I've read the articles, I've read the books, and in 90 percent of the cases it was useless information, a mere scratching of the surface, so to speak. I cannot stress to you enough how IMPORTANT this book is for people who are getting started in a career in the music industry in ANY capacity: singer, songwriter, publisher, manager, you name it, they should read it. Because of Michael's book I have a bio, press kit, 2 festival gigs, and a possible East Coast summer tour, all done by me. And by the way, the people in his book, who's names are listed with contact info, you can actually contact them. Try it, I dare you! And enjoy the book, you will be so much further ahead if you do!

I bought this book for boyfriend for Christmas to help him get ahead with his band. I also wanted to learn more about the music business so I can help him out. I have to say that I have searched for articles online to do with the business and have found nothing that comes close to this book. It kinda sounds like the author is sitting there with you explaining how to do what you need to do. I recommend this book to anyone - plus you can even get ahold of him if you are extra stuck! I recently received a free contact list of industry people for picking it up. It is a great start for anyone looking to have a career in the "Biz".

This was a very easy and interesting read with a wealth of information for any musician at any stage in their career. The information in this book is priceless because of the fact it helps one to avoid the costly mistakes of learning things the hard way. Through this book and through personal consulting Michael Wood has helped bring our band to the point of releasing our second album and we will be kicking off on our first Canadian tour in the Summer of '08. This book is a must for anyone looking to get thier foot in the door of the music biz.

This book is a great description of the music industry, more specifically the Canadian music industry, for aspiring singers, musicians and artist managers. It's simple and fun to read. It gives you great tips and it's written by someone who started from scratch and made his way up the ladder. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning more on the music business.
