So there appears to be a quality control issue that affects the throughput as to whether it is acceptable for the rift. Ultimately trying this is a gamble, I'm 1/2 = 50%. Absolutely. You could probably even get away with USB 2.0 to save a bit of money if that's all you'll use it for

It (cable) will fit no problem. However, sometimes certain usb 2.0 or 1.0 devices sometimes do not work or recognize usb 3.0 ports.
