What’s in a tent repair kit?
Different tent repair kits come with different features. Some provide tape, which enables you to stick back together any stitching or similar materials that may have come loose. You can often find them with chord or rope, for any structural problems such as cables that have snapped or been damaged. They usually contain patches of fabric as well, which are available in a range of materials such as high visibility and reflective or camouflage - handy for when there is a snag and part of the tent rips. Some models even come with spare roll-up mats, just in case your sleeping bag splits.
The key components though are things such as glue and other sealants, adhesive fabrics, eyelets and eyelet closing tools – the last being key if you’ve got an issue with tent pegs. While everything else is helpful, these essentials should help you tackle most major problems.
