What types of cymbals are there?
There's roughly three main types of cymbals you'll tend to encounter in ensembles. The crash cymbal can be worked alongside the ride cymbal, adding some real definition to your sound. They often come into play as a crescendo starts stirring. Effects cymbals are another popular option, giving your drum performances plenty of depth and character. Finally, you've got the splash cymbal which is often paired up with its partner, the crash. There's numerous sub-types to consider here, with a splash cymbal for what seems like any musical moment.
