There is some pixelation in the marble print, but that's to be expected as it is indeed...a print of marble- NOT real marble.
I think for the price it's good value. Took me two rolls to get my counters done (but I have quite a bit left over.
Would definitely recommend and buy again.
I am very pleased with this product. Our kitchen was in desperate need of a work over. Caulking was cracked and peeling, stuff was getting rather nasty above the countertop.
So after reading some reviews, and this product being on sale, I went ahead and purchased 3 rolls. Super fast shipping! Went home and started right away... as my wife was at work and I had all the time to work on it in peace.
You need patience, alot of it, if you are wanting to do a great job which will be worth it.
I started with removing the tap, the old caulking all along the tiles and sink, which takes some time but with a heat gun and a metal spetchula it worked alright. (Could not remove sink as it is glued in and did not want to temper with it, figured the new caulking will protect the film around the sink edges.)
-heatgun! Or blowdryer
-plastic card (do not use valuable card as it might melt when working with heat)
-car wash hand cloth or similar
-cresent wrenches to remove taps etc. (Not needed if you don't want to)
Then i vaccumed the countertop free from all the caulking, gave it a good scrub down with cleaner and wiped dry. I started measuring this product and cut a piece at a time. I found it easiest just to peel the whole thing at once if it wasn't too large of a piece as you can lay it down perfectly along one edge and work from there.
I did use a plastic card for the hard to get to edges (by the stove and fridge) to tuck it in nicely, the heatgun (or blowdryer) will be your best friend for the whole process!
I applied the film cold first and then went over the whole area with the heatgun again to shrink it, wrapping it around edges and such, i used a car cleaning hand cloth to actually get rid of bubbles and lay it down, as the card could very easily put holes into the film as you are putting heat on it (not saying the product is thin, but heat will make it very bendy). It worked great and sticks fabulous.
Once finished i did the outside edge on the counters with a seperate strip wide enough to tuck it deeply under the counter, as the width of the roll was less wide than my counter is deep. ( i wanted to do 1 roll from stove past the sink, as water is there and you do not want seams around the tap or sink as water might get under your film over time, which would be bad)
Once all complete and heated, i installed the tap again and finished with a beautiful white caulking around the outside, and clear caulking around the sink and tap. Looks wonderful and all that for less than 60 bucks.
If you take your time you will be very satisfied, it took me roughly 4 1/2 hours to do, but I think it will last a long time.
Check out pictures before and after... looks like a 2000$ job.
