I got these weights to use with my at home workout videos (30 Day Shred and other workout videos). I love these weights because they have a great grip and cute color. The weights have held up but I honestly haven't had them very long. I will say the color hasn't altered even after contact with sweat and the floor. Even when my hands get sweaty I can still easily grip these weights without them slipping. For me this is the perfect weight for my workouts. I consider myself fairly weak so I know this will help me build my strength and when I can finally increase my weight I will buy Valeo again. The weights came in a box, which I liked since a lot of weights are sold lose, and it allows me the ability to pack them in the box for even easier transport. I Highly recommend these weights.

Got this set for my 83 year old mother. Her doctor ordered her to get a little bit of lifting into her daily routine. She had never lifted any weights, before. They arrive quickly from Amazon straight to my mom's house. She loved the color and the neoprene cover and feel of neoprene, and was not intimated by the weight or size at all. They were attractive enough, and not at all bulky, that she sets them on her end table while watching TV, and goes through her lifting cycle several times a day. These are just great.

Great Buy For The 30 Day Shred

I bought these weights along with a copy of Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. They are great! Love the pink color. They are great quality and don't roll when you set them down on a smooth surface.

In case you are like me, you may be wondering what amount of weight to buy for the 30 day shred. I hemmed and hawed for several days over whether to get 2, 3, or 5 lb weights. Now that I have the dvd and have done the workout, I am SO GLAD I got the 2 lb weights. The workout involves a lot of repetitions, so if you are not super strong, you want very light weights. I would consider myself to be of an "average" level of fitness. If you work with weights a lot or are otherwise pretty strong, you'd probably be fine with 3 or 5 lb weights. But for me, the 2 lb ones are perfect.

2 lbs is just right for my senior-citizen mom to use while sitting on the couch. She loves the pink color - and doesn't mind keeping them on her couch because they are cute - so they actually get used. The neoprene cover keeps them from slipping, and softens the blow if they are dropped. Also came with a nice little basic "instruction booklet" that gave her some tips on doing basic curls, etc. Everyone should keep a pair of these on the sofa, for a little muscle activity while watching TV!

Upon ordering the handheld weights I didn't know what to expect except that they were pink since I wasn't very familiar with what Neoprene was. After I got them I was very pleased to see they are very sturdy and the Neoprene actually allows me to keep a good grip on the weights while I'm doing my reps and/or cardio workouts. The 2lb weights (imo) are great weights to start out with for beginners and since I've been using them for the past 3 months my endurance has built up and now I'm in search of more weight. I would definitely recommend this to any beginners, elderly or those w/ disabilities (upon doctors approval). They have really helped me out a great deal.
