It took us a little while to figure out what works best for artwork with this button machine but once we had that down it has been great. We first used it with photos, some worked but others did not, it depended on the thickness of the paper. When we used regular copy paper for making buttons it worked much better. With 20lb paper, the kids were able to add cut out words or stickers and the pressing of the buttons was perfect. The mylar top covering is very thin, so you do need to be careful to make sure you really do have only one sheet of it. We did jam the machine by accident when a student accidentally put several pieces of mylar on the button. The circle cutting thing they give with this isn't great, I cut circles of the right size out of mat board, had the kids trace that and cut with scissors and it was much better.

This honestly is the best purchase I've made for my Etsy shop (Brujx)

The buttons are easy to make, just one, two, done. Any fault that they may have upon finishing was my own short comings (I let there be dust under the seal, I put the back slightly crocked, etc) and is caused by carelessness

I don't really like the paper cuter they gave, I rather use scissors to cut out the circle, but that's just my own impatience. My. Spouse uses the cuter no problem

I highly recommend this product. I would buy it again but it's so sturdy, I highly doubt it will break any time soon, regardless of how often I use it (I sell custom designed buttons often so I use it almost every day)

This is the most fun I've had in a long time. The button machine is solid, heavy, and well-made. I have operated a similar machine before, but there are also instructions on the machine for beginners or people who just appreciate a reminder. The platform with the two cylinders slides back and forth (instead of spinning around like I have seen similar machines do) so there is no question about which way is up.

To use the cutter most effectively, raise the blade arm, place the center firmly on the middle of the image you are cutting out, then lower the blade arm before turning. The glass plate for the cutter is just a glass plate and can probably be replaced; I may make some non-slip feet for it out of sugru or something.

A passing manager at work said: "This is seriously over-engineered." This is what makes it the most fun: the sheer physical joy of the solid metal sliding around so smoothly and solidly.

Absolutely amazing! Let's start with this. When using this make sure your die and press are lined up right (do a slow press to make sure). I did not do this and really messed with the one side. It was basically broken and I knew I had to ship it back. I Emailed the seller and they told me to call thier office for help from their button guy. First they have a real legit office where someone answered the call and directed me to the guy. Brian I think his name is helped me step by step to fix the device. And it now works.

The machine itself is great and is very easy to use and I made lots of campaign pins very easily.

This is easy and enjoyable! I would recommending getting a 2.5" punch cutter rather than using the cutting tool included to cut down on time and human error, but otherwise this is perfect. The buttons are professional level and the machine requires no additional force/strength like other button makers I've struggled with in the past. Only thing to keep in mind is that when sliding between the top and the base pin sections the tool pivots the button about 15 degrees, so pivot the pin back accordingly in the second holder to compensate if you want the pin to sit properly with the pin straight across the back (it took me a few buttons to notice the subtle shift between the two).
