I bought this as a gift for my husband for Christmas. We both felt it was the best show ever on TV. People who think it was all about football would be very wrong. Yes, it is a story about a coach and the kids on his team, but it is so much more. It is a show about life and all that entails. It addressed issues such as birth, abortion, personal problems of people from teenagers through adulthood. What do you do while in high school? What do you do after you graduate? What if you're rich? What if you're poor? What if a member of your family is addicted to drugs? What if you have no place to live? What if you are in a position to advise a teenager on how to solve their problems? What if you own a thriving business and a recession hits? I could go on and on, but you get the drift. It was a great show and I can't believe they cancelled it. I am still grieving the loss of the show, and, oh yes, grieving is another issue they worked through.
