Product description

Easily orchestrate a home’s lighting scenes for “All Off”, “Movie Time” or activities such as “Go to Bed”. The sophisticated in-wall solution provides more options for controlling multiple Decora Smart Wi-Fi devices, including room scenes and whole house lighting activities. An addition to the Decora Smart Wi-Fi product family, the 4-Button Controller can be paired with the My Leviton app and Decora Smart Wi-Fi devices to create a wireless home lighting control system. Multiple 4-Button Controllers can be utilized within the same home, most often placed in the foyer, master bedroom, garage, living room and other commonly used spaces to provide single-button convenience. A five year limited warranty supports Decora Smart Wi-Fi products. Decora Smart devices are designed for countries which follow NEMA standards including the United States, Canada and parts of South America. DW4SF is for use with the My Leviton app and can be connected to voice controls and select third-party devices.

As of May 2019, I have installed 3 Leviton DW155-1BZ WiFi switches. 2 of them in separate 3 way configurations. And one in a single pole config. Note, for a 3 way or (haven't tried this yet) a 4 way config you need the accompanying Leviton DD0SR-002-01Z Digital remote switch. You match them with the DW155-1BZ. Example 1xDW155-1BZ + 1xDD0SR-002 (3 way setup). Very simple to install, just read the wiring diagram included in the package (yes, the install doc is written in super tiny font - note to Leviton, larger fonts please, had to go online to find the PDF version). In one of my 3 way config I have a mix of LED and CFL bulbs (3 different light fixtures) - the switch supports this configuration. Also, the switch is a bit thick (depthwize). Maybe a challenge for you to squeeze the switch and wires back into the electrical box. Note to Leviton, next generation of switch make them thinner...it would be a great marketing feature,...thin switch...) I couldn't find the DD0SR-002-01Z at Home depot (Canada) or Lowes (Canada) or Rona. Was only readily available on Amazon (Canada). Another bonus, as of May 2019, the DW155-1BZ is cheaper on Amazon vs Home Depot (Canada). I gave the product 5/5 on ease of install, ease of use, but a 4/5 on value for money. Reason being, its still a bit pricey for a light switch... first manufacturer to get a WiFi switch to market at the $20 Canadian price point gets my 5/5 for value for money. But overall very happy with my Leviton WiFi light switches.

*** Update March 31, 2021 ***
I have installed a total of 5 of these switches and all continue to work flawlessly (earliest switch I installed was in 2019). One other nice feature I forgot to mention was the "status" light. You can configure the LED light status light on the switch to operate as a "power on" indicator (example...you always seem to forget to shut the light off in the garage...and the light switch is in the house...with the LED in this mode, you can tell if the light is on in the garage...the LED status light glows green...when you shut the light off...the LED status light turns off. Simple idea right...but very difficult to find on smart light switches. Or you can configure the LED status light as a "pilot light"...(example...its night...you need to find the light switch...the LED status light is on).

These work wonderfully, just like it says on the box. Easy to connect to Wifi, easy to control. Only thing is setup was a nightmare. I had an experienced smart home electrician come in to install and he took a long while figuring out how it works (he is more used to Lutron Caseta than this, to be fair). Takes up quite a bit of room in the outlet box so in my 3-gang situation, was hard to make everything fit, and would have a helluva time putting more than one in a box. Great for setting up schedule to make people think you're home when you're on holiday (i.e. set to come on a sunset). App could be more intuitive but overall not too bad. Also, no real time-lag issues when controlling via app (even though I read that theoretically WiFi ones should be more finicky than ones that are controlled via a hub such as Lutron Caseta). In hindsight, Lutron Caseta might have been easier to install and easier for 3-way/4-way controls (since their "Pico remotes" need no wiring, just cap off wired in 2nd switch location and fit the remote "over" it). But this Leviton one looks sleeker and friendlier whereas the multi-button Lutron Caseta looks complicated.

So happy with the easy set up of multiple lights which are controllable via the Leviton App or Google home. Now I can have my lights on via a voice command or done via the app….also enables dimming of lights which is handy for when you want more ambience. I was particularly interested in this for security reasons, so that I can set up the lights to come on and go off while I’m on vacation/away. Very intuitive set up and a quality product. Recommended by a family member….and having done this myself, I highly recommend!

Si tienes conocimiento de instalaciones eléctricas, no debería haber ningún problema para instalar y hacerlo funcionar correctamente. La aplicación se sincroniza sin problemas siguiendo las instrucciones y el control del ventilador se puede hacer desde Alexa. El único detalle es que no he podido subir o bajar la velocidad con Alexa, solo desde la app de Leviton. Igual podría generar una rutina pero creo sería mucho para hacerlo con cada ventilador. Es posible que haya alguna forma. Pero en general funciona muy bien. Ya tengo 3 ventiladores cada uno con su control y no he tenido problemas. A diferencia de otros, estos no causan ningún ruido molesto con el motor.

This Leviton WIFI Receptacle works!!! Some of the off brand devices sold on Amazon are not reliable - they work for a while and then go off line - sometimes need to be reset - and have electrical terminals that may not be the best if you are switching a larger load. The Leviton device is a Specification grade receptacle with screw down back-wired terminals. Easy to install and easy to configure with the MY LEVITON APP and works with Alexa and Google Home for voice control. The MY LEVITON APP has all the features you would want to control the device and is very user friendly. The duplex receptacle comes with the top outlet WIFI controlled and the bottom always on. That's my only complaint, they should reverse this so the bottom outlet is controlled and the top is fixed. Any electrician wiring a split wired receptacle knows always to switch the bottom outlet so the top is accessible to plug in other things. Of course, you can rotate the receptacle 180 degrees but sometimes having the ground terminal up becomes inconvenient. Now that the major receptacle manufacturers (Leviton, Hubbell and Legrand) make WIFI receptacles, I would strongly recommend that you buy one from them rather than from some off brand supplier.

Updated 12/07/2020 - Thanks to some stellar customer support on the part of the Leviton team, I can now give these a rock solid 5 stars. Turns out that the issue was not with the devices themselves, but with the wifi router supplied by my cable provider. Went back and forth with Leviton customer support for a couple of months, only to find out that the Spectrum/Time-Warner wifi router doesn't allow a 2.4ghz and a 5ghz signal to be broadcast separately. So these devices couldn't always acquire the 2.4ghz network that they require to work properly. Swapped out to a TP Link dual-band wifi router and these Leviton devices have been 100% reliable ever since.
All of my other smart plug products work much better, as well. Kudos to Scott and the tech team at Leviton for being patient and working through this with me!

Works when it can maintain a connection. But we have occasional power flickers where our wi-fi routers and repeaters blip out. These reboot faster than the routers can come back online, so I have to walk around the house and unplug every single module and plug it back in after the routers are back online. They can't seem to acquire a signal without unplugging them. And on top of that, we constantly get one-off "device is not responding" - there's no apparent reason. I'm a bit frustrated as I have about $800 in these devices and they are no more reliable than my old X10 system. I wanted something that I didn't have to constantly troubleshoot and fiddle with - and these are not it. We have about 20 of these modules throughout the house for under-cabinet lighting, lamps around the house, etc. If it were reliable, I'd love it - they are very flexible as it comes to dim levels, dim/brighten rates, and the app is easy enough to use, as is the integration with Alexa. A bit of a learning curve to get everything working together. Going to try small UPS devices on our routers and see if that enhances reliability. I am also considering adding a secondary wi-fi network just for these devices to see if that improves reliability - but at this point, I'm not that hopeful that these issues can get resolved. If you just need one or two of these for home security lighting, you'll probably be fine. But I don't know that I would try to put these in the entire home again for automation, based on my experiences. Update 11/10/2020 - a firmware update helped but these still go offline far too often. About ready to rip them out and throw them on eBay and look for another solution. I'd love to have the $800 invested, back, though.
