I want to stress hat I’m not an employee of Anker nor was I compensated in any way for my opinions. Having said that, these earbudsare simply awesome for their price point and price points above their value. Starting with the packaging which is so nicely presented in an unfolding box with gear very nicely packed, even included 4 additional sets of rubber inserts of different sizes aside from the ones on the earbuds themselves.These earbuds fit nicely in their charging port which is small and feels like a rubbery velvety sort of plastic that feels nice and, is small enough to fit into the smallest of pockets easily. Fitting the right size rubber ear inserts was a bit of a challenge because I was unsure how to remove them without tearing the rubber. Unfortunately there was no instruction I recall seeing about how to remove them but after some fingernail work they popped off. Once I had the right size inserts on the earbuds fit nicely, I mean shake your head and they don’t move nicely, which is great because I have been let down by other earbuds which didn’t hold and were a let down.Pairing them was a breeze, just open the case and select them on your Bluetooth settings menu on your device. There are 3 tiny LED lights on the case and a button on the bottom both for pairing and checking battery level on the case. Once paired I downloaded the Soundcore App, this is when my mind was blown proper. It seems Anker was out to make a statement with this app, it is the perfect example of how to aid hardware by way of an app, a perfect marriage of app and gear.The app pairs with the earbuds when the case is opened and the home page displays the earbuds and battery levels for each. Here is where this app and earbuds separate themselves from others, I mean other white ones senselessly costing double or more. Control, the level of control you have over how the earbuds sound is awesome, meaning the EQ. There are many EQ presets tailored by people in the music industry, clicking on their names changes the eq setting and, if that’s not enough you can set your own custom presets. Now, what if you have no idea how to use eq sliders to tailor a custom sound setting? no problem because their is a mind blowing feature which tests your ears by playing different tones and then sets optimal eq presets for your ears alone!.Whaaaaat?? these earbuds came with an ear exam which set my EQ to optimal presets, yeah you heard me, uhhhm, any challengers out there among earbud manufacturers? yeah exactly. As I mentioned above, I don’t work for Anker but, I’ll give credit where credit is due and, I’m intelligent enough not to mindlessly purchase whatever just because the next person has them. These things sound perfect, they fit great, look great and, they didn’t blow my wallet into oblivion.Seems like I forgot to mention one other great feature, the earbuds are touch sensitive so by tapping on left or right side you can skip tracks and adjust volume which is common but, in the app you can change the tap controls so it lets you change the tap sequence and controls from left to right and give versa, you’ll get it.What don’t I like? I don’t like how when I’m listening to music and I want to adjust the earbuds in my ear, touching them affects the tracks being played since they’re touch sensitive and I find of I have to push the earbuds in a bit or whatever it stops, pauses, skips my tracks around. This is not a deal breaker, I’ll figure it out soon enough but for now, I can’t ask for any better.
