I did not receive the CD that was supposed to come with it, but I would never give this album any less than five stars!

- Reviewed in Canada on January 17, 2021Verified PurchaseCan't say more than this, this my favourite album of all time and the vinyl version is fantastic.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 12, 2021Verified PurchaseGreat album by a great band. It's getting harder and harder to find physical copies of their records so make sure you grab this one up quick. MY only complaint is that it is clearly stated that a CD of the album would also be included but it definetly was not. Not a big deal but that should likely remove that note from the alum description/title.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 4, 2002...Fallow is a catchy, soft rock album by The Weakerthans. A positive-poetry three piece. It was recorded in Winnipeg, Canada and was released in 1997...
This rock album contains 12 songs of positive poetry, political in a way. This is an instant classic that hooks you in. It is aimed for teenagers because they are at that time in their life where they are still deciding on who they are and what life is and this album can be an insight to that. It also can suit most tastes because it is easy listening. The lyrical poetry that just flows from the singer's mouth and makes you think about what he is saying. It is classed as emo, soft rock that is very easy listening with great musicians playing the guitars, drums and singing.
The Weakerthans are made up of three young men in their early twenties They are an independent band who own and distribute their own label named The G7 Welcoming Committee. They believe they are "collectively-owned-and-operated". They have taken the bass player from the punk band Propagandhi and putting him as lead singer of this band you would expect to hear some sort of punk when in reality it is a great mellow rock album. The lyrics are very thought provoking, for example, "Cynicism falls asleep. Tyranny talks to itself. Sappy slogans all come true. We forget to feed our fear." If you like rock that leaves you smiling and wondering, then choose wisely; choose Fallow by The Weakerthans.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 13, 2003The Weakerthans are more than just musicians, they are poets. Their lyrics are so wonderful, they make you think on so many levels. I have all three cd's produced by them, and I can't get enough of them. Their cd's are the type that no matter how many times you listen to them, you can never get sick of because you find something new every time you listen. Their words are pure magic, and will allow you to forget about anything on your mind. Truly their lyrics are so simple, yet so complex, but above all beautiful. So sit back, and relax, and poetry will soon be presented.
- Reviewed in Canada on September 1, 2000Wow. These guys were recommended to me when I told a local punk group that I liked their lyics, but their music really wasn't to my taste. When I explained what my taste was, they immediately suggested the Weakerthans, and I was hooked from the start. I love both this and "Left and Leaving," their other disc. The personal nature of the songs, the simplicity of the music, and the flow of the lyrics are all excellent reasons to buy this record. That, and it's a great band to play if you need music to coast through a bad day....
- Reviewed in Canada on November 15, 2000I bought this record after I saw the Weakerthans in Cleveland,Oh on what I believe was their first tour in the states. They blew me away from the first tune of their set, and the next week I bought "Fallow" from their Canadian label, G-7 Welcoming Committee. The way that JKS portrays life is in such a beautifully deep rhetoric that it just incredible. They are truly one of the best bands to ever play music on this Earth. "Anchorless" is basically my definition of the perfect rock song. "Fallow" always puts me in a good mood, no matter what. Thanks guys.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 25, 2018Verified PurchaseGreat record all around. Dark, catchy songs. Minor bummer it didn’t come with the CD as listed. Love having cds for the car. Annoyed with the poor listings on Amazon’s part.

Verified PurchaseThis is a cool album. You can tell that, lyrically, the Weakerthans are way out in front of themselves. They're not particularly gifted musicians and, in many ways, that only adds to the odd flare that this album has. More like an old, well made car that you love and have driven for years, than some shiny new thing stamped out at the factory for your enjoyment over the next couple of weeks.

Verified PurchasePrimo di quattro dischi stupendi. Testi che hanno valore letterario e melodie strappagola. Tra le migliori band del pianeta terra.
