Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time
Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time
by Brian Tracy
Edition: Paperback
46 used & new from CDN$ 0.01

4.0 out of 5 stars Not deep, but useful, focused and on target, You need it!, July 1 2004
This book isn't a new take on time management or efficiency. Instead, Brian Tracy, a man who's own success speaks pretty loudly, takes some of the best wisdom out there on the topic and puts it in a compelling form. This is important beacuse time management is about more than having the right information - it's about putting that information into action. Tracy puts the same message of prioitization and focus in front of you in a form that challenges you to take action. Highly reccomended, but you have to be willing to use this book, not just read it!

Slip and Fall Prevention: A Practical Handbook
Slip and Fall Prevention: A Practical Handbook
by Steven Di Pilla
Edition: Hardcover
11 used & new from CDN$ 125.76

5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive, trustworthy information, an important book!, June 12 2004
Di Pilla covers the full spectrum of slip and fall prevention, including theory, standards, testing, and design considerations. This book, along with Turnbow's "Slip and fall practice", represent the most comprehensive and honest treatment of the topic. Beware some other books on this topic that are put forth by those with hidden agendas. The area of slip resistance measurement in particular is fraught with controversy, and relying on a simple web search will return as much inaccurate and misleading information it does anything of any use. If your work or study involves the prevention of slips and falls, this book is an absloute necessity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Silky smooth original vocal caviar!, April 9 2004
This review is from: Boy Next Door (Audio CD)
If you like Diana Krall and Norah Jones but haven't heard Stacey Kent, you're in for a treat. She does not have the level of success or fame of those other two, but she's got a voice that just brings you in to the music. She's got the slightest accent to her singing, which adds to the appeal. This album is a good place to start with Stacey Kent, with "In Love Again" as another strong choice. This is one of those albums that is well recorded and engineered to the point that audiophiles will put it on to demonstrate their sound systems, but it's not just about the quality of the sound, its about the quality of the music. Highly reccommended!

The Universe Next Door: A Basic Worldview Catalog
The Universe Next Door: A Basic Worldview Catalog
by James W. Sire
Edition: Paperback
45 used & new from CDN$ 0.01

5.0 out of 5 stars A great introduction to a foundational topic, April 2 2002
This is another excellent book by Sire. ("Scripture Twisting" was a classic!) It begins with the premise that all people have a worldview, whether they've articulated it or not. He then proceeds to examine the major worldviews, and the implications of each. Sire is not ashamed of his own Christian Monotheism, but gives an accurate picture of the other views. Especially helpful is his coverage of how various views have affected art, culture, politics, and society in general. This book is relatively easy to read, but covers some heavy stuff. Highly recommended.
