1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid the Brilliance Audio Version, Dec 31 2002
This review is from: The Forest House (Audio Cassette)
I checked this out after listening to Davina Porter read "Mists of Avalon". I couldn't get past the first half of cassette one. The reader wasn't interested in making the story come to life, but rather in her own dramatic prowess. Ack!

3.0 out of 5 stars Junk food when I was hoping for steak, July 11 2001
This review is from: Glamourpuss (Paperback)
This is an engrossing novel. And though I'm just as happy to read smutty details as the next person, I thought the smut here was just gratuitous. It didn't go anywhere, and it was just sort of thrown in seemingly for shock effect.
And I was disappointed by the end. The ending was too neat and tidy with no real explanation. I wasn't a satisfying happy ending.
Just not too impressed by something Amazon has been recommending to me for 2 years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pulled me out of the Blues..., May 3 2000
I went out and bought this book b/c I'd listened to the abridged recorded version. This made me laugh and cry. It truely pulled me out of a "Why are we here and why do we bother?" kind of funk. I'm not sure I got the answers, but the answers didn't seem to matter after all. His presence is missed deeply in my life.
