5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent narrative of WWII, Sept. 14 2013

Bill Guarnere certainly didn't write this book to draw attention to himself. He simply told us readers what it was like, serving your country overseas in wartime. He doesn't want to be called a hero, but I'm going out on a limb and stating the obvious. "Wild Bill, to me you ARE a hero".

In my humble opinion, Dave Barry truly is the funniest man in America. I enjoy a writer with a quick wit, and, this guy's has loads of it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Intro Ruins Book, Jan. 8 2012
This review is from: Cornered (Hardcover)
This could have been a fine read. Unfortunately, the Intro was written by an ignorant know-it-all, biased blowhard. Consequently, the reader is left with a bad taste in his mouth. As you turn the pages, you will feel as a famished restaurant patron who had the misfortune to spot rat droppings while entering a fine restaurant.
