1.0 out of 5 stars Straight to video and it shows....., June 8 2004
The first film was denounced by both critics and the public alike. So the studio did this much lower budget sequal and it went straight to video and even here people are avoiding it like the IRS. It has no script, no casting worth mention, and tons of even worse CGI effects then the first movie had. Both these movies are to be ranked alongside Roger Corman films as the worst of celliod B-movie garbage.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great Cast wasted by bad script., June 7 2004
This review is from: S.O.S. Titanic [Import] (DVD)
I saw this movie recently on an old VHS release, and boy it is terrible. I saw so many wonderful actors wasted on a bad script that looked like it was originally written as an episode of the Love Boat.

1.0 out of 5 stars AOL , I Mean Warners is desperate for money...., June 7 2004
This review is from: Jonny Quest Season One (DVD)
I think Warners is still paying off their huge AOL debts, so they will release anything on DVD just to make money. Case in point is this rather forgetable show from the mid-60's. It was poorly written, poorly drawn, poorly voice acted, poorly created, poorly put on television with the cheapest animation ever done for TV, and we are now expected to buy it. NO THANKS WARNERS. Try James Bod movies instead.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disney's DVD production is cheap....., June 5 2004
I was rather disapointed that Marvel allowed Disney to do the DVD editions of the 1967 Spider-man animated shows, because Disney's DVD production is also not the best in Hollywood. They useually sneak in Disney promotion adds everywhere on the Disk, the picture quality and sound are also off, and the bonus features look like a 12 year old made them, so when this series comes out, I will pass on it.

2.0 out of 5 stars What happened to Paramount....?, June 5 2004
Well since Paramount became a Viacom company, their choices in what screenplays to turn into movies and who goes about doing them have been very shotty at best. Like building a bridge with very questionable steel and building materials. The Tomb Raider movies are what they are. Based on a video game. Using tons of CGI effects and really big film sets. Going on location to different areas of the world. Using high tech gadgets and various stunt work. At best, this is Paramount's effort to cash in on the James Bond movies, although the efforts seem rather pale in comparsion. Jollie is awful in the part. Her looks are ment to sell the movie while her acting is non-existent. There is no real story to be told here. It's lost in the production design over-kill of the movies. The DVD's are even worst. Paramount's DVD production is hit and miss at best. Either the DVDs are bare bones editions, or they will have behind the scenes featurettes on how the movies were made, but the interviews are useually poorly conducted and run way too long. I've bought several DVDs of Paramount movies now, and only a small handful have turned out to be any good. I have pretty much scrached Paramount off both my movie and DVD watching lists. They have lost it. and this Drek that they have been making the last several years now, proves it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Same with LGX, it's celliod garbage,, May 29 2004
The problem with League of Extraoridinary Gentlemen, was that it had bad casting, tons of fake cgi effects, over-kill production values, and a director who acted as professional as a horse out of the stables. Hellboy was the exactly the same. Dealing with comic book story material that was hard to look at and read in the books, but as a movie, it just does not work. The Rick Baker make up work done on Pearlman looks about as cheesey and corny as you can get. Pearlman acts like a wise guy in a drawing board role. The CGI, forget it, looks like it was done by teenagers working on cheap PC computers. This movie was a total disaster, then again, anything Dark Horse Comics does, is cheap and bad.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hammer sometimes made good movies...., May 27 2004
Val Guest's script and direction are effectively handeled in this movie, that looks a bit more like an expanded Twilight Zone episode, rather then a movie, but the strength of the screenplay and cast make this a good movie to watch as the Earth's days are numbered in a story that is an effective protest against nuclear weapons testing.

2.0 out of 5 stars What happened to these guys....?, May 25 2004
Isabella and Ingersoll once started out as the comic book industry's best writers, but starting about eight years ago, their work gradually went downhill and today they have become little more then internet geeks who spend all their time at a cheap comic book web-site and not much on writing, this book certainly shows large lacks of creativety in them, just taking minor Trek characters who appeared in only one episode, and then trying to make them carry a whole novel with a plot that is full of holes and some very bad dialoge. The result is a very unsatisfying Trek book, and a call for these two to turn in their pencils and paper.

1.0 out of 5 stars He was not fit to write Superman...., May 24 2004
I have read the draft of the Superman script that he wrote and oh, he was so wrong to do it. He treated Superman like some horney teenager, even Tim Burton who later passed on the project and can be strange as well, even he said "No, I am not doing this." All Smith does is insult people who do not agree with him. He has no class, he has no room for patience for other people's viewpoints, and he's just a sleeze. As for me, I'm going to watch a Tim Burton movie now.

1.0 out of 5 stars Smith is bad for comics and film....., May 24 2004
This review is from: NEW Mallrats (DVD) (DVD)
In 1998, when Smith's DAREDEVIL run began, everyone was saying, read it, It's great. Oh boy was it not. Very bad writing that basically destroyed the charecter, The same's true with this piece of celliod garbage. There is no one to like in this movie, heck an episode of Beveryly Hills 902010 has more plot, better dialoge, and casting then this. It should become a tradition to avoid all Kevin Smith movies as you would avoid a trip to the IRS office.
