Items That Can't Be Returned

Before you return your item to Amazon.ca, make sure that your item can be returned.

Amazon.ca doesn't accept returns of the following items:

  • Items that are classified as hazardous materials or use flammable liquids or gases (contact the manufacturer directly for service, warranty, return, and refund information)
  • Computer laptops, desktops, and Kindles more than 30 days after delivery
  • Any product missing the serial number or UPC
  • Downloadable software products
  • Gift Cards (except as required by law)
  • Prepaid game cards (World of Warcraft, Xbox 360 Live, Wii Points, etc.)
  • Items purchased from sellers other than Amazon.ca (but the seller may accept the return)
  • Some jewelry orders
  • Some health and personal care items
  • Grocery products
  • Open software
  • Items with special shipping restrictions imposed by the Canadian Department of Transportation (as indicated on the product detail page)


  • If the item you purchased from Amazon.ca isn't returnable per the Amazon return policy, you'll see a message about that in the Online Returns Centre.
  • If you have a problem with one of these items, please contact us.
  • If you have a non-returnable item that arrived damaged or defective, go to About Our Returns Policies and About Refunds.
