He should have skipped the bbq 101 and just given more recipes.

I scanned this in an airport book shop and ended up ordering on my return. I find that it is kind of light on detail if you are a beginner. The detail he does drop into is almost insulting. You need to tell me I should have matches to start a fire? um thanks.... Steven skims alot of topics and techniques on basic bbq, as well as some advanced techniques, but he only skims. If you are new to bbq, or want to get a book that tells you in depth on how to develop better skills, you should look at Meatheads book or my favorite Franklin's bbq book. Even the Weber books have more details on the basics. I have been doing this for a while though, so I bought this for the recipe ideas, and that is where Steve shines. He should have skipped the bbq 101 and just given more recipes. I have only tried a few so far, but have all been great.
