Fantastic technical art book on the resurgence of the Deus Ex game franchise. A must have for fans and the only book of it's kind for pure conceptualization and art work. It's a steal considering the walk through manuals cost almost as much and don't have nearly the same kind of narrative insight as this volume does. If you want to get into the creators' and designers' heads then this is the book to get.
It's always nice to see the work that went into making a game. The atmosphere is very powerful in the deus ex series, especially in Human Revolution. Through the interviews with the artist one definitely gets a sense for how passionate and involved this team was for this series.
In terms of beautiful pieces of stand alone art, this game isn't the strongest but my standards are coming from the drawings by Amano Yoshitaka for the final fantasy series. If you're looking for a lens into the how of game development on the art side this book gives that glimpse.
Everything I wanted it to be! The art is fantastic! This book is also informative on the design process on both Mankind Divided, and Human Revolution. It goes through characters, and environments. A must buy for any fan!
The book is a little smaller than I would like, but the content is nonetheless amazing and expands on the game's designs. The games are already phenomenal and this is really an amazing companion to go along with it.
Excellent quality art book. Quite big too, containing lots of developer comments and design choices. If you're a big fan of Deus Ex Human Revolutions and Mankind Divided then this is a quality art book to add to your collection.
