The multi-throttle standard for flight sim
August 3, 2013
It's hard to really give an in-depth review for a fairly specific flight-sim controller; you want to get this because you've moved up from a single engine aircraft and want to have the additional control abilities that you'd have on a multi-engined aircraft. While I feel some ambivalence towards the quality of the flight yoke (mostly that it doesn't take very long before the pitch and roll springs lose their resilience, leaving you frantically re-trimming your aircraft after returning to what you believe is neutral), CH does make solid, plastic controllers.
The throttle quadrant mounts to your desk like the yoke, and will remain firm until removed. All the sliders move smoothly, accurately and are easily calibrated for whichever sim you are using. The six switches also work as expected.
Quite simply, there aren't many solutions out there for the requirement of a multi slider flight controller, but even within this apparent vacuum of specialty controllers, CH Products will provide you with a decent device which should last for as long as your interest in flight simulation (or at least until you geek out and construct a full, replica cockpit).
