Works well as long as you follow instructions.

Got this to surprise my kids and guests at the cabin. I am off-Grid so an electric one was not an option. I looked up the waffle variant of the Krusteau pancake mix you can get at Costco. Main thing is the extra oil in the batter. I brushed the griddle with oil for every waffle. I also waited the recommended 3 minutes per side to allow the batter to cook.
I had a silicone spatula which was needed to sometimes pry the waffle out. The waffles did not drop out like my electric waffle maker.
I like how it can have the handles removed and store away back into it's box.
Not a fault of the product, IMHO, but you need some familiarity with it before committing to feeding a bunch of people. I made waffles for 4 of us and screwed up the first two batches. With some patience, like waiting the full 3 minutes per side, I was making nice waffles. Just be aware that with 6 minutes cooking and 1 minute per batch to prep the iron you can take more than an hour to make breakfast for 6-7 people. Better cooks than I already know this but just plan accordingly to avoid impatient family members!
Now just have to convince my neighbour to make fried chicken so we can enjoy waffles and chicken...
