My perfect mouse
September 27, 2017
Updating my review; 1 year in and still going strong. I have this 2S mouse at work so a good 7+ hours use a day. My older MX Master at home is over 2 years old and also still going strong.
Best productive mouse on the market. Buy this mouse, it is great. If you get hand strain using mice or have big hands, this is a big mouse which lets you rest your hand on it rather than holding it in a claw grab. It has forward+back buttons under your thumb. The scroll wheel is amazing, an adaptive scroll wheel that you can flick with your finger allowing you to scroll through web pages and documents with speed and accuracy - once you try it you won't buy another mouse without it. There is a second wheel under your thumb to scroll sideways but personally I don't use it. The mouse can connect via the included receiver, or via Bluetooth, and has a button on the bottom to select which device you want to connect to, so use it with your PC, your laptop, and a third device - to swap just touch the button on the bottom of the mouse. A charge lasts about 2 weeks for me, even if you forget to charge it you can just plug in a micro USB lead (yes there is one in the box) and continue working, the mouse can also be connected to your PC and used as a wired mouse (though not really any need unless that is how you are charging). Super precise 4000dpi. Works on almost any surface too.
The Logitech Options app (not required) lets you easily change or assign button functions, scroll wheel speeds, movement speeds. It also has a pretty impressive feature called Flow, if you have your PC and laptop near each other and want to use one mouse you can, as you move the cursor to the edge of your PC's screen it moves over to the laptop - yes it's witchcraft!
Compared to the old MX Master: The 2S version is pretty much exactly the same, the buttons feel stiffer and click louder, I kinda like this response even though I would have thought quieter would be better. Technically the specs say this is now 4000 DPI over the old 1600 but in use you'd never know. Battery lasts longer but the old one lasted ages too. There is this flow app if you happen to use two computers at the same time, if you do this would be nice I guess.
