Installed these in a 3rd gen TransAm (87) with an LS1 swap, hand built true dual 2.5" over the axle with an H-pipe. Provide a nice, throaty/deep tone, very low drone on the highway, I can pull in to the driveway at 1am and not wake the neighbours but I still get good volume when I step on it. The set up is not nearly as loud as my loudmouth1 set up was, and in fact is too quiet for my tastes in a car like this.
Construction is good, nice quality welds, materials are appropriate and I have had zero issue with paint burning off. In fact, I was impressed with the quality of the paint when I had to grind some off in places I welded exhaust hangers on to.
Well made little muffler for the money. The dual chamber design on these are very similar to flowmasters but at a fraction of the cost. I wanted a loud muffler for an old hot rod truck to give a similar sound to straight pipes and I’d definitely say it was a success.
