2100 cycles more like 300 cycles
January 11, 2019
Are these batteries good? Yes they're decent, but don't fall for the 2100 cycle lie. I've been using them in our company for the last 2-3 years in large quantities. Generally they are used one day, discharged approximately 70 percent, recharged the next day and then discharged the day after again with breaks for weekends. I estimate that batteries purchased a year ago have given us about 300-350 cycles. We are now seeing a mass quantity of these batteries that will no longer charge. I contacted Panasonic and they told me that with regular use, getting 500 cycles is "very good" and we shouldn't expect them to last longer than that. Yet according to them, somehow if they're not being cycled as often they will last more cycles because he "has batteries that are 10 years old that are still working". Of course the ones he had are only being charged ever 2-3 months, therefore he won't have gotten to 200 cycles either. In summary these batteries WILL NOT last you 2100 cycles, don't be fooled by their unsubstantiated claims.
