Gave them upset stomachs.
May 15, 2019
I really need to learn to stop accepting dog treats via the Vine. Too many times the bag of treats turns out to give one of my dogs the runs. Which happens from time to time with one dog as she is known to be a little sensitive tummy from time to time, but him, well, he's a trash compactor in canine form. He swallows anything he's given and he loves it. He keeps it down, it never bothers him, and his bowel movement habits never change in any way, shape, or form.
These treats, however, caused upset tummies in both dogs.
These dog treats look interesting and the dogs found the smell very intriguing. They don't just crumble apart, it takes some work to get them to break down. My dogs had them broken up, chewed, and swallowed in about 15 minutes. They each left a little mess of treat particles on the floor after they were done, which tells me they didn't enjoy them enough to clean up every teeny weeny last bit (as they usually do.)
A couple hours after they had these treats the stomach noises started. The grumbling from deep within their gut was heard from across the room. And it was both dogs. And they had this uncomfortable look on their faces. Neither could seem to get settled and relaxed.
An hour later they were standing at the door raising their paw to it, their signal for "please let me out NOW".
Let's just say a shovel couldn't clean up the mess. All the rain we had recently was what took care of it.
Just my 2 cents.
